In March 2014, eight-year-old Relisha Rudd vanished without a trace from a homeless shelter in Washington, D.C. She was living with her mother and siblings at the former D.C. General Hospital shelter when she formed a bond with Kahlil Malik Tatum, a janitor at the facility with a criminal past.
