Healthy and Happy Morning!Welcome to Mission 2030 – Episode 21. Iam Sathiaseelan Nagadasan, Nutrition & Wellness Coach, Co-Founder, andDirector of The Holistic Wellness Hub and Serve With Smile Wellness &Nutrition Centre. Our overarching Mission 2030 is toempower One Million Vibrant Healthy Lives and develop One Lakh Wellness CoachLeaders by the year 2030.Today's episode is titled: "ReadFood Labels Before You Buy – Know What You Eat Before You Eat It."Let's explore how taking just 60 seconds to inspect a food label can protectyour cellular health for years to come.💡 Why Food Labels MatterEvery piece of packaged food carriesvital data about what you are putting inside your body. Reading the nutritionlabel allows you to make informed, objective choices rather than falling forfront-of-pack claims like "All Natural," "Fit," or"Low Fat."True health begins with true awareness.🔍 Six Things to Check Before YouBuy1. Serving SizeAlways start at the top by checking theserving size. Many small packets look like a single serving, but actuallycontain two or three servings. If you eat the entire packet, you must multiplyall the calories, sugars, and sodium listed on the label by two or three!2. Calories & Energy BalanceCalories represent raw energy. Make surethe energy density matches your physical activity levels and daily lifestylegoals. Remember, clean, high-quality nutrition is far more important than justcounting numbers.3. Protein ContentProtein builds lean muscle, supportscellular repair, and keeps you feeling satisfied for longer. Whenever you havea choice, pick products that deliver higher protein per serving.4. Hidden Added SugarsThis is where most packaged foods fail.Excess added sugar contributes to weight gain, metabolic dysfunction, energycrashes, and long-term health risks. Always compare items and opt for theproduct with zero or minimal added sugar.5. Sodium (Salt)High sodium levels put unnecessarypressure on your cardiovascular system, contributing to high blood pressure andwater retention. Selecting low-sodium alternatives is a quick, easy win foryour heart.6. The Ingredient HierarchyTurn the packet around and inspect theingredients list. Ingredients are always listed in descending order byquantity—from highest to lowest. If sugar, refined wheat flour (maida), orhydrogenated palm oils appear in the top three ingredients, put that packageback on the shelf! Look for short, simple lists of recognizable ingredients.⚡ Today's Mission 2030 ChallengeToday, I invite you to take a simple, practical action step. The next time you visit a supermarket ororder groceries online, pick up one packaged food item and spend just 60seconds reading the nutrition label before placing it in your cart. Teach thisexact habit to your children and family members.Remember: 🎙️ ClosingThank you for tuning in to Mission 2030– Episode 21.
