Mist on the Water

Send us Fan Mail Welcome to a foggy All Hallows Eve on the canal. Come aboard to join us around the fire as we contemplate the mythic qualities of the season, enjoy a spooky tale from one of our listeners, and share the special joys of canal nights with Mess in a Boat’s Jen Ratcliffe. Journal entry: 30th October, Friday “Dropping down Horse Hill to the canal Mist hangs heavy and Maggie Gives the five apostles a wide birth. She looks up at me Unsure if she did the right thing. The jackdaws are making a racket I tell her she’s alright We all get the wind up at times She still looks worried So we head along To the wooded cutting. I watch the rooks While she watches squirrels.” Episode Information: In this episode I read Mind Shambles’ poem for Halloween, ‘The Dark Lock’. Tonight’s ‘Night View (Through your Window)’ is provided by Jen Radcliffe and her poem ‘Temple Walking.’ You can read more of her writing in her Mess in a Boat on Substack.
