Of Rewinds Smackdown. I'm waiting to join again here by Neil Flanagan. Way who's had a busy day because we've got a quartet of interviews up on the Post Wrestling YouTube channel. Brilliantly conducted by John and brilliantly filmed by the man to my left. And substantial interviews as well.
I didn't quite have time to listen to all three of them, but more than just a few minutes that you might normally get an immediate availability. So yeah, yeah. Well, we had, yeah, this was pretty much my day prior to doing this particular show. I went out to the former Maple Leaf Gardens with John Pollack, ahead of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, Northern Rising have been happening tomorrow, which of course features Adam Copeland making his, well, indie wrestling return. Really, that is the big headline, but more importantly for him, crossing off a bucket list item here, getting to wrestle at the home, the former home of the Toronto Maple Leafs and also Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in Maple Leaf Gardens here.
So yeah, this is a big moment for him and therefore, well, it just sort of some media day availability. And that's what John and I went for. We got the, John got the chance to talk to Josh Alexander, Jody Thred, Rowan Raja, and of course, President Scott DeMoor. In a series of, as Neil mentioned, like, you know, pretty substantial interviews. There weren't too many others there.
We had Braden and Davy there doing coverage reports and all that. I believe Fightful was there. Some other, like, you know, local radio shows were there. And so we got substantial time with everybody and I thought John did a great job, as he usually does with interviews. So Josh Alexander in particular, I mean, got a chance to really speak about, you know, his participation in the Patrick tribute event.
I mean, clearly he, like, he's been very affected by, you know, both, you know, Andy Williams and also Ben Satterley's passing. And had a chance to reveal to us the interaction he had with Ben Satterley at All Out and also spoke about maybe the weird silver lining, as he calls it, of getting to Russell Bryan Danielson on the tribute show this past Wednesday. That was the first interview I checked out because, you know, in the description, it said that he touched on that and it's fascinating to hear this man who's gone through such, you know, sort of loss in the last while, um, talking about that rollercoaster of, you know, getting to wrestle his hero, Brian Danielson, and finding out that it would happen on day from the man himself, you know, and just that weird silver lining, you know, this weird, you know, what other industry do these sorts of things happen?
Yeah. So that's all about our YouTube. Also, on our free feed right now, all of those interviews compiled into one audio podcast. You choose to listen to these and say one more plug here before we go into our review or SmackDown. It is for John and I's review of Nirvana, the band, the movie.
Have you heard of Nirvana, the band, the show? I, the first time I heard of this was when it was in the patrons bowl and didn't win, but there were so many comments underneath that for patrons. It didn't win, but there were ton of comments and particularly targeting way saying way will like this. We know ways to give him, he will definitely enjoy this. And to both of you, it's very Toronto centric.
What I will say is I have not seen the film because it's not on a streamer here just yet. You can buy it digitally. And I might do that because I did check out, I was going to call it, it's not a rewindaway, it's just a special review that the two of you did, which I thoroughly enjoyed. And it feels like it's the sort of thing I would enjoy as well. And I think as you pointed out way, not something that you need to live in Toronto, to sort of enjoy.
Just a bit slight tangent. One of my favourite graphic novel sets is the Scott Pilgrim series. I like the movie too, but the books I really enjoy. It's full of references to Toronto culture, sneaky D's in it, the rocket, which I think is gone now as a band venue, is in it, Casa Loma is in all of these places that when I first read it, I had no idea that these references were what they really meant, second cup, all these things. So they do, I'm sure it would hit more, but I'd still completely love the comic books.
Yeah, I would say for me, maybe a movie that I feel like I've gained some sort of notoriety. I don't think there's been one that to me has felt so much attributed to Toronto since Scott Pilgrim when I watched Nirvana. Anyway, don't really know how to describe this film, nor do I think I should for people to gain maximum enjoyment. It really is best enjoyed without knowing anything about it. So if you if it piques your interest at all and you end up watching it, however you're able to, well John and I did a review and it's one we both really enjoyed talking about.

I'll also be joining Kate from Montreal Tomorrow on Collision Course plus again our entire archive of bonus shows including Excel editions of this particular podcast and more over at Post-Rosa Cafe.com this month. Alright, Neil, let's talk about tonight's edition of WWE SmackDown here. Now we are coming to you from Denver, Colorado here where Russell Ticks has the tickets distributed today at 10,777, which is a very healthy number from Denver here. Still, we should mention down from the last time they were here in November of 2005 at 11,660, nonetheless crossing over to the 10,000 markies above average for WWE this year.
And we start things off here with our Money in the Bank qualifier match, our final Money in the Bank qualifier match for the women here between Deputy Stratton, Candice Lorre and Tatum Paxtley. This is Candice Lorre's first singles TV match. I guess this is considered singles, right? First TV match, I feel we can even just say, flat out, sits February when she had a match against Jordan Grace who also has a very lengthy hiatus herself. Jordan's disappeared, at least Candice has been on television.
I'll say, you know, when she came out for her entrance to generic guitar riff number seven or whatever. I was like, I've never heard this thing before. I probably did in the women's rumble, but yeah, there was just no recognition to this theme. So, Tiffany Stratton delivers a swan tawn to Lorre and Paxtley is able to immediately follow with a spinning wheel kick, two-stratton for two count. Paxtley then delivers a seven-terrier drive to Stratton.
Candice tries to steal the pin getting a two count. The finish comes as Tiffany Stratton delivers a thinly roll to Candice Lorre. Paxt then follows immediately with a 4.52 Lorre who's already on the ground. Stratton then breaks that pinfall with a PME onto Tatum Paxtley. So, she shoves Paxtley out of the way, painting Candice Lorre for the three count in a rare match.
I would say that did not feature a monster heel for them to work around. Really, like, if you, depending on how you look at Candice Lorre, there isn't even that much of a defined heel of the bunch, I would say. So, I thought they tried to work some really fast-paced pinning sequences, maybe not all of it working out as smoothly as certainly maybe they envisioned. But nonetheless, I thought they were able to get this cut by the time we came back from the commercial break. And I continued to be especially impressed by the crowd's connection and reactions to Tatum Paxtley, who feels like one of those rare immediate baby faces upon callup that the scrubs needs to gravitate towards.
One of my biggest takeaways from this is, well, the crowds everywhere seem to have taken Tatum Paxtley immediately. And I've got to think that an awful lot of, you know, watchers of mainstream raw and smacked on on television perhaps weren't that familiar with her from NXT. So, right from the get-go, where once you made her debut, crowds have reacted really well to her. Before the match began, I was like, okay, I'm officially a bit sick of these or sorry, these triple threat matches for the money in the bank. But this one, like I said, why it was kind of refreshing, it was patterned in a slightly different way. Candice is the heel, but she doesn't really work heel. They're all quick, athletic.
So, you know, we got the sort of gymnast spots from Tiffany. I don't know, my general takeaway from this match was that it was very well worked. There were a couple of timing issues, but apart from that, I thought it was really well done. The final PME to steal the pin was perfectly timed. All three of them, I had my eye on Candice for some ring rust. Didn't really detect it.
And I thought Tiffany looked very good as well. And Tatum's been great since she got called up. So, honestly, I think this is one of the best of the, on the one inside of these qualifying matches that I remember. So, I'm glad that they had this one as the last qualifying match for the money in the bank match, because, as I mentioned, getting a bit tired of them. So, Tiffany Stratton joins a field of Solruka, Lola Weiss, JC Chain, Roxanne Perez, and Lash Legend in the women's money in the bank match. And out of that field, it is Tiffany Stratton that
is actually the veteran here, somebody who debuted all the way back in 2024, but still certainly a lot more experience on the main roster at least, you know, compared to the rest of the crop. So, a real eye towards the future here with this particular group. And yeah, a lot of fresh faces in the women's division being featured here. So, there's that. And then a little bit more about Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green's reaction coming on later in this particular episode.
So, we then get, oh, actually immediately right after we get Chelsea Green's reaction to Tiffany Stratton winning. And Chelsea is, well, she's threatened quite frankly by all the people coming after her, whoever ends up winning the money in the bank. But she does hope that Tiffany Stratton wins because she calls Tiffany the Nikki to her breed before Nikki went all sort of crazy. And this is when of course Nikki Bella steps in and tells Chelsea that money in the bank should not be her worry because she will be taking her title from Chelsea before that. And this is when, of course, Paige steps in. All these people very, very close, of course, you know, to this conversation.
Paige steps in into frame says she's not getting a title shot. Nikki is not getting a title shot without beating Paige first. Paige does not care this time about beating Nikki. She just wants to beat the crap out of Nikki. So in fact, some for some reason she picks up two weeks later, she's going to give Nikki two weeks to prepare for this Sacramento SmackDown. And she ends this interaction by slapping
Nikki in the face. So they are clearly building to Chelsea versus Nikki and maybe due to Chelsea's recovery really taking their time getting us there now having to wait two weeks for Paige versus Nikki in their rematch first before getting Chelsea versus Nikki whenever. Yeah, this was very pattern. And the one thing that actually one thing that drew my eye more than anything was this amazing backdrop that they were in that this must be part of the arena. But it looks for all the world like a country in Western music venue or something. There's a stuffed bison or something in the background that
Dan Hoisin was sneaking around with his evil detector earlier in the scene. Just an amazing looking sort of backdrop to this scene. But yeah, the trope of why I just overheard you badmizing me from two feet away and then walking in to have their, you know, and the healers and this is Nikki. I'm just enjoying week by week. You know, it's whether it's chewing the gun or whether it's dressing well in black or whether it's the hoop earrings, the dark eye makeup or the hairs up, it's going for it all. It's hard to get super excited for another Paige and Nikki match, but that's
what we're going to get in two weeks. Yeah, I personally, I'm really not feeling it with that. But even as a way to guess it's a Nikki versus Chelsea, I mean, it is a fresh match. But I I mean, there's enough like, you know, I think like Nikki's like, heelishness is enough to me to like oppose somebody as likable as a Chelsea green and to have audience react to it. I am curious to see how they can deepen the future at all. And I hope it's not through name calling and such.
Two editions of Rewind Away highlight the October menu at the Post Wrestling Cafe. We are going to be chatting about TNA lockdown featuring team angle against Team Cage and a legendary horrible blindfold match between the members of America's Most Wanted. Then we have a review of SummerSlam 2001 featuring Steve Austin against Kurt Angle and The Rock against Booker T reviews of TNA Bound for Glory, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling's Northern Rising UFC 333, King of Pro Wrestling, and we will roll the calls by Aria Manuel on Book Club, plus Pollock and Ting Talk and it is time for Nirvana, The Band, The Show, The Movie, The Review, all of that at postwrestling cafe.com $8 a month supports postwrestling. All right, so we get our next match here. This is for Axiom, teeming with Ray Phoenix, take it on, uh, uh, Phoenixium? Okay, for, for an exiom. Take on the War Raiders and Ricky
Saints. This is a match made after, uh, well, an online exclusive next week, which seems to be the, the eternal home of, uh, Ricky Saints. Ricky, uh, tricked the War Raiders to help him against Raxiom and Phoenix by, um, telling them that they were talking shit about them or something. And so Raxiom both delivered dives at one point. Phoenix then goes for his dive and unfortunately he trips up here and lands on the apron. Cole says that's why the, or, grave says that's why they call it high risk.
I believe that was great. Yeah. Um, but in the story, it didn't really seem to like, you know, harm the mantra at all because it takes us to the heels, taking control anyway that they do. The finish later on comes as Phoenix, a tent to run Ivar in the corner. Uh, Starks is able to blind tag Ivar when Phoenix does not see the tag. Phoenix ends up completing the runner, but Saints then comes in
with a roshan bow as Saints gets the victory here. Um, under two, well, or rematch between Ricky Saints versus Ray Phoenix. Yeah. Um, Rouge Ambo pronounced correctly by Michael Cole, I think, possibly for the first time. Whoa. Um, so congrats on that. Who gave him that talking to? I wonder maybe he
decided to scroll through the internet or listen to a podcast. Do be. Um, yes, maybe he's a listener. Hey, Michael, Sean to give you a shoot name. It's, this was okay. I can't go higher than that. Phoenix was
great, except for the trip on the rope. And he really seemed to like, almost be like he was making up for it later in the match because he did that rope run as fast as I've seen him do it. So he was doing a lot of his impressive crazy moves later in the match. Um, with a better gusto. My issue with this is that, as you mentioned, the, this match was built on two weeks of digital exclusives. And
even though we were using back down every week, you know, I don't even see all of these things. So this felt like a completely cold match that didn't really have a basis for really being there. Um, I, I win for Ricky Saints over Phoenix, someone, you know, as, as pushed ish as Phoenix seems somewhat significant. But as I say, the problem is this is built on virtually nothing. So it felt a bit cold.
It was barely built on like the match we did see of Ray Phoenix versus Ricky Saints. And, and that's really it. I mean, you know, maybe you can understand things getting caught due to time, timing issues. And unfortunately, that's going to be the Ricky Saints, Ricky, excitement. You forget to cut anything on the show. Um, so I mean, I get the sense really this,
this is just kind of there as your default good match of the show for them to be able to put out there, but it's not taking any sort of like priority over, you know, the actual storylines that are being built for the pay-per-view. So then we go to the back here. It's Cody Rhodes here. Cody Rhodes, um, well, doesn't really get much to say before Trick Williams interrupts. Trick wishes him the best of luck tonight in Cody's qualifying match, but says that, well, trick will also be in the bank, which means that your American nightmare story is over.
And it's time for a new dream. He talks about going on to beat the gingerbread van to become the new WWE champion. He says, let's talk about it. So what's Cody says sounds like we just did. Good luck tonight. Yeah, I enjoyed this interaction. You don't get these two together that often tricks
are basically playing the heel, but his character is more in the sort of stone cold way in these days. I don't mean, you know, any kind of carbon copy of that. I just mean in how he is regarded, I think by the fan base, they love him for being an arrogant guy, just as, you know, I don't want to be, is it appropriate for me to talk to have him, you know, to repeat that, he said he was the tall glass of chocolate milk or whatever it is, you know, and all that sort of it, lemon pepper steppers. I love it. And Cody just sort of no selling it all and then saying, well, we just did talk about it.
I thought, I enjoyed it. Yeah. And obviously just just the right hearing for tonight's results, making youth and Cody was already, you know, involved in this money in the bank match. But I mean, I do sense these are meant to be somewhat like, at least maybe temperature gauges of audience interest, if not outright teases for future match between Tricholians and Cody, as far as like seeing them on screen together in some sort of like, you know, like Ted's moment. Do you have any sort of like superficial anticipation for this particular matchup? I feel like this is more, as you said,
temperature check. I don't know that they might be thinking of it for further down the line. It's sort of thing that you could sort of put it to an at the end of the year before the Wumbull and everything really gets started. But you know, at the moment, I don't see this becoming a program always around the horizon and they've really got to get to that, which has not been announced for, you know, we'll get to that much more later on. But I mean, that matches not been announced for anything.
I mean, they've already up to five for money in the bank. So yeah, I certainly don't see it on the horizon either. But whenever it does happen, I mean, I imagine Tricholian to be a baby face for quite a while, you know, like he's still sort of like, he's a baby face now, but still maybe like, like you mentioned, like Stone Cold, I don't know, like 96, 97 range or like he's a beloved guy, they maybe know where it's going, but they're not fully committing in there yet. But Cody, I think is the worst type of baby face you would want to put against the Tricholian. So I feel like for the few to work, it's going to require Cody to be certainly a lot more healers and me if not an outright heal. So I do wonder if whatever that happens, if we may see that dynamic. We get another
one of these sort of like R.K. Junior health videos with Triple H, this one featuring Linda McMahon and also R.K. Junior. So get fit everybody. Very important. Get active. You don't need to
listen to anything R.K. Junior says to get active though. Yeah, video for Damien Priest who is walking through the streets of New York, you know, just in his vest, just walking aimlessly, he's just like taking in the vibes. He speaks in both Spanish and English for this video. He says, this is the city that made me somehow I lost my way. He tells truth to not come looking for trouble or else I will put
you down and I will enjoy it. He said he needed to come back to the city to remind himself that he's a bad and violent man. Yeah, this was a lot more effective than a piece to camera with his silly logo you know behind him. I did quite enjoy the fact that they placed him into New York. Adam leaning into his New York city, which the city you know, you know, in somewhat of a real life situation. Like
you said, I mean, I don't think he from day to day would wander out, would dress like this. In Manhattan or wherever he is, Spanish, Harlem, I'm not sure. But I think the issue, the problem for me is that this is all in service of a match with our truth, which I don't care about and the result is surely a no my big hope is that we've got to get there because they've had the tag team split. So it's logical. It's I don't begrudge the fact that the match is happening. I just wish they'd get it over with. And I hope
that it's not a program with our truth. They need to have this guy if they want to have him be believable as this complete badass who's find his mean streak to beat the shed out of our truth and move on to something else on the heels side. If there's a reason for this guy to agree. I agree. I mean, but as an exercise and continuing to rebrand dating increased as a bad man, you know, I thought it was effective. I think it's always effective whenever they go out to actually film something rather
than just like stick somebody into a room. I want to see a lot more of this. I want to see him just like walk up and down the subways. I want to see him to hit every borough, maybe even like, you know, venture out to upstate New York just just walking, you know, just walking the end. Yeah, just hanging in Central Park being bad. That's right. Yeah. Okay.
And more find out everything at poisonrana.ca. Next we've got what do we have here? Charlotte and Alexa, they're in the back, trying to consult Tatum actually after her loss tonight. And well, Charlotte tells Tatum that they managed to get them meaning Charlotte and Tatum together a match against fatal influence for a tag team title match. Next week. So does she mean this being a title eliminator or straight up
type of match? It was that we got a graphic at some point later in the show that it's attacking titles match. Okay. So Charlotte avoid to Tatum hug but tells her that there's no room for losing anyone. So that's happening next week. Totally.
Sammy Zane. Sammy Zane comes out. He checks for the booze and he certainly hears them here. And he says that he wants to know how many came to ride or die with the last real good guy, which of course prompts even more booze. He is disappointed by the reaction. He says that
despite being the champion, he's still facing injustice. And that is in the form of inequality. Inequality that he's not receiving the same respect that other champions get. He says everybody thinks that the next time somebody is there to challenge him that he will lose. He says this title proves that I'm a survivor and I overcome. And it's time that I get the respect that I'm entitled to.
And this is when we get our procession of several money in the bank qualifiers and we start off with Javan Evans. Javan says, well, Zane is getting red like an angry bird and he's about to crash out. He asks if he's okay. Javan says, unlike you, what if it doesn't take me 20 years to get a championship? What if I become the youngest total holder in WWE history? He threatens the cash in on Zane when
he wins money in the bank and even does a mock, Michael Cole Call. So I thought it was wrong for him overall here. You know, good, good charisma to do have any thoughts on maybe just his performance today. Yeah, you got a good reaction. You know, that's quite bad. Oh, Javan from Raw is here,
I don't think he did deliver a very upbeat, but kind of true to the character promo. Sometimes I feel like he's making him use young terms like crashing out and maybe he's got a 6-7 shirt and stuff like that almost. Already feels like it belongs to like last year at least, if not fairly bad. But you know, he feels like a 50 year old's idea of what a 20 year old should be. Yes, exactly that. This triple H's idea of what a guy this age should be of like, but nonetheless
did very well. I mean, with somebody who's wonderful, you know. So he's followed by Penta, who says he's going to win. And then of course we get Trick Williams, who also comes out, Trick says he respects both Penta and Javan, but tonight is Friday and it's night down. He says, what's up, Gingerbread? He makes fun of Sammy's hair, his shoes, and of course his breath.
Zane looks annoyed and says, no one can do what I do. It's not that easy. Zane knows that he's looking at at least two losers, maybe three, if he's honest. What happens when the, when he asks them what happens when the losses in the years pile up and he looks at trick says that I survived being the gingerbread man and I still came out on top. I've survived getting pinned in a mousetrap at WrestleMania and then I made a vent to the next year. He says,
I've made, I've made a mockery of my entire time here and I've still come out on top. So, you think you can do what I can do? You think you can overcome what I have? At this point, Trick sniffs Sammy's breath again and makes a face. And so this Zane delivers a little headbutt here, which Trick definitely gets a little bit pissed about and responds with his own. Sammy dares him
to sniff me again. And Sammy says, until you've overcome the same obstacles, none of you deserve to stand in the same ring as the WWE champion. And before we wrap the segment, Sammy walks up the rant where Finn Balor walks in and stares Sammy down, says briefcase or not, I'm coming for that title. Sammy says you're not special. You are not the only one who's after this. If you want to
chance do something to earn it. And so Balor texts him. And after this, Gunther immediately comes out, chokes Balor, clotheslines him, then clotheslines Sammy and drives them both into the ladders set next to the stage to close our segment here. Would you think about this? Well, very lengthy and also, well, actually quite heated, particular segment. Yeah, I hate to try and play mind reader, but I know
Sammy, a lot of talent on this show in particular, Sammy, Kevin, Corey Graves, you know, I'll be missing people out, have had a tough week with the loss of Ben Saturday. The really only overt reference to it was the Ben armband that we saw Kevin wear in the main event. But I felt like we know that Sammy goes back a very long way with this guy too. And if I had to guess and you know, I feel almost bad doing this, I'm thinking like he is channeling some of that feeling into this promo right up to the head, but it felt to me because it really felt like Sammy's a great poem with the best of times, but I was drawn in completely by this guy tonight. I think that he was awesome in this segment. And he sort of even against somebody like trick who normally dominates in the Christmas
stakes. He felt bigger than anyone else in the ring. And maybe I'm looking for that in some way. So it's coloring on I'm seeing it. But that was my takeaway. I love the elements of his promo,
where he's talking about the indignities that we all know that the match with Johnny Gargano, no, I'm sorry, I'm thinking of Jackass. Oh, not so. Johnny Knoxville, pardon me, was actually awesome. But he turns it into the my strap thing and all of that. The way he manages to use that and the gingerbread thing is these indignities that he's such a suffer and yet he still has made this journey to championship. It's just that was great. There's a reality to the weight of that comment in
that I think he did such a great job with that jackass match that it might have inspired some confidence in the company, but also amongst the audience that tells you that this is somebody that we actually want to cheer for. We don't really want to boo him. And that thus began Zane's rise from within the bloodline. It's just low card heal. So anyway, I love this promo from Sammy.
And again, he really is stealing the show on SmackDown in every sort of instance. And the fact that he's won the championship twice now is not stopping this character from being tremendous and having things to complain about. I love the new twist here of now that he's become champion while he's still pissed off because he's not being respected like the other champions are. So he's just as angry and you can point out maybe wearing your ear that ever in this particular segment. I would love to know whether or not that had but was something that they had discussed beforehand or if it was just a heat of the moment type of thing. And if so, what was the reactor backstage immediately afterwards
once they moved work behind the curtain because I can't imagine somebody taking an improvised head but would look too happy about it. But at the same time, it really elevated the segment and really made you feel that this is a Sammy that's not here to just joke around. He's not here to just like take angry birds, you know, crash out comments from the 20 year old. He's not here to play. He's here because he really demands respect. It was a tremendous acting performance from Sammy as usual.
And I continue to be really captivated by him. So, yeah, and of course, Gunther and Baller are lingering here as despite them not being a part of the Money in the Bank match, they are still after the championship. So Sammy has a lot of challengers on the way. What do you expect this whole thing to play out? It's interesting because of course we've got the Money in the Bank but then while long as the winner going to hold on to the briefcase for me, we will talk at the end about who we see winning that match. But in the media talk, I can sort of see a Gunther Finn program being
reignited because of all of these attacks. I think Sammy will get away in the mist with his still holding on to the belt for now. We pretty much have talked about this before that he's very likely to keep the title into Croungerville, which is not until November. So, I actually don't see a full on defense of the title until then perhaps. Well, that's a bit of, we'll see.
Hey, Al, the movie line here and you might not know who I am but you'll recognize all sorts of names on my show. Real talk with Al the movie lion. I've chatted with WH Park, Jordan Goodman, Nate Milton, Neil Flanagan and scored beyond the mat with Brandon Thurston, the lego movie with Waitang and Home Alone with John Pollock. If you love movies and post wrestling, subscribe to Al the movie lion on YouTube now. Alright, so in the back we go to Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green and well here in case you're wondering what Tiffany Stratton was going to do if she wins when he went to the bank, she straight up says I'm going over to Raw and I'm going to become the new women's world champion. So she vows to at this point if she wins cash in on the other champion,
that being Stephanie Viqueira and not Chelsea Green at this moment. And so they're happy and this is when Lash Legend comes in says she is going to win the Money in the Bank and she is going for Chelsea title right away. So there we go, some tease of that. And then we go over to the back where Gunther is being interviewed by Kathy Kelly and Dan has him quickly interrupts with this evil detector which comes out negative until of course he points it towards Gunther and at this Gunther has had enough. He tosses the evil detector and basically tells Dan how to leave him the fuck alone and he drives carefully stacked boxes here in the hallway and before we're getting some version of this Dan housing. Can can can can Valor and Dan has an interact can we see some form of demon
Dan housing team up. That's an interesting integration. We know in this company integration normally means an advertising opportunity but yeah I mean both the base paint guys you know in some sort of team up perhaps I don't know I'm still completely confused about this utilising to have Dan housing. He feels a little as though I think someone in the back perhaps has gotten to all that they were overusing Dan housing. I think the exposure that reached its height at Madison Square Garden with all of that next interaction was I think a peak and I think after that it was like okay we don't need to wheel this guy out at every ad break and have him you know do something ridiculous and we don't need the lab. So you know this is what he's at at the moment. I
don't know where this goes if it's a match I mean it's it would be deleterious to use a big word on Gunther to have him do anything other than completely destroy Dan housing or as you said last week you know have a curse have any effect on him that should not be what Gunther's for. It's kind of interesting to have you know one of these super goofy supernatural powered characters with the super real strong style king of the matte guy so it's kind of interesting but I don't know where it's going. Me neither and for that reason I have curiosity but I also have concern because I think like even the longer Gunther plays with Dan housing the more you expect Dan has it to give him some form to come up it's and whenever that happens I do worry about like how far we are keeping Gunther away from maybe like a more serious perception. I mean I say all that and by the time Gunther actually becomes champion I think we'll forget about any of this stuff but you know is this like sort of like are you risking something that you don't need to risk you know anyway. Then it's the main event Neil Flanagan
a match five months in the making a debut five months in the making Blake Monroe was announced for Smackdown in late April of this year we are in October everybody this is her debut match Blake Monroe versus Julia and the crowd. Yeah he's kind of there. The work is not bad here you know like both of them obviously have very strong pedigrees but the heat is certainly nothing special to start and you can come back from commercial break when these matches tend to like just escalate you know still not that much response for Julia's comeback here then we go to our finish. Julia attempts a super plex. Monroe escapes trips Julia off the second rope. Julia lands face first into the ring post and
collapses on the floor. Monroe looks towards the top realizes what's happened she climbs over covers Julia and gets the victory. Again work in the middle totally fine but what a flat finish and I would also suggest that the crowd lied probably didn't recognize the bump as anything more significant than a typical trip off the second firm book at least not one that seemed to justify a knockout right. So it just I think it looked really strange and sounded really flat on TV. It's a spot that happens all the time and doesn't result in any kind of you know knock out and you know I saw a few people online because I was sort of interested in just type Julia into X to see and the word people genuinely worried that this was real I had no absolutely zero that this was a you know because you know this footage of her being held to the back by the referee and an official like if this was a real head injury or a suspected one that is not what would happen it was just a very strange finish to this match so I mean clearly they're going for this again but
the problem is this took months and months and months to get to and to justify that kind of lead up you would have had to have a blow away outstanding match between these two and this very much was not that it wasn't even very good it wasn't even you know that much above average it was kind of fairly standard fair in fact it was very slow to begin with as you said and then beyond the break the comeback spots weren't getting much energy the crowd seemed kind of bored I think they were waiting for the main event yeah yeah yeah I I expected this to continue beyond tonight I mean I feel like they just simply put too much into it to just have it have it and I guess on a snack down without maybe something more conclusive so I expected it to continue but I also expected a little bit more satisfying creativity to get us to that next match then just what feels like you know like a literal like banana peel slip you know to get us there I I thought this sucked and it's whatever lack of interest I already had for this feud it's even lower
I feel there they must be building to some sort of stipulation match but I also don't have really high hopes for whatever stipulation matches that they're able to do under this like extremely sort of like PG environment that currently exists you know in modern day Netflix so and I mean I don't know I don't even get that much more leeway but I'm certainly not it's gonna take a Hollywood ending in order to like with this you know match out of the dumps and they're not going to be able to go that far certainly anyway so this continues now it stays well and if this was supposed to protect Julia in some way you know this kind of you know oh she she just caught you know and got out of it or something I don't think it does so I don't really understand the thinking behind it but this food will continue so in the back we go well first of all this is where we get a recap recap of a Jacob Fatu's murder which was a show here on USA yeah same in Johnny Gargano so Sammy says Nick Aldis told him that he cannot interfere in Johnny's match tonight but Zane proceeds to give Sammy a pep talk a big pep talk says you're cut from the same plot as me
you've been through as many obstacles as I have you're not even supposed to be in this match but your every bit is good as Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens so go out there and be Johnny wrestling to this Gargano that pumped up smacks a water bottle and Zane crosses his fingers praying that Johnny Gargano will win tonight instead of either Kevin Owens or Cody Rhodes so we get our match our final money in the bank qualifier for this particular year it is between Kevin Owens Cody Rhodes and Johnny Gargano Cody and Owens go after each other immediately and as Neil mentioned Owens has a Ben armed and on his on Gargano goes for a tope does not get all of it we come back from commercial break Owens pulls out a table to put Johnny Gargano through but Candice instead saves her husband the Gargano escape is broken up by Kevin Owens Owens then delivers a snap-driven off the rub to which Corey Grace calls Neville Esk Candice holds Cody up on the apron for a Gargano superkick but Cody moves out of the way Johnny stops short of hitting Candice but Cody then kicks Johnny who knocks into Candice off the apron bumping her onto a table on the outside unfortunately the table does not fully break so Cody thinking on his feet is
able to improvise a spot that puts Gargano on the apron and pushes Johnny off the apron to finally break the table after a second commercial break Owens delivers his swinging fisherman buster counter off the second turnbuckle to Johnny Gargano again oh again oh sunset bombs Cody Owens then follows with the swan tanto Cody and then Gargano follows with a superkick to Owens allowing him to score two count on Cody Rhodes then a super Cody cutter is delivered to Gargano Owens delivers a stunner but Cody stops Charles Robinson from counting the two Owens and Cody get into this hockey fight Cody counters the stunner with a crossroads but in comes Randy Orton to pull the ref out of the ring to interrupt the camp Cody brawls with Randy on the floor and manages to stop him on the outside as Cody is about to reenter the ring in the match he sees Randy on all fours on the outside and he decides to go for the punt as he said he was about to do a week ago he backs up but in comes Johnny Gargano with a big toe-pay to take Cody out this one he did get all of Gargano follows with one final beat to Kevin Owens who kicks out at two Gargano at this point looks heartbroken Owens is
able to later deliver a pop-up powerbomb to Johnny Gargano Cody tries to break up the pin but Orton is able to pull Cody away allowing Kevin Owens to win this match to enter the money in the back yeah um and Kevin as should be said I think seems quite emotional at the end of the match he you see him taking the bend arm band off and holding it in the air in the corner as well because I was before getting back to the match I was somewhat on alert you know tonight to see given the number of Cody includes the number of people that Ben Saturday had interacted with throughout his career who were on SmackDown how much integration we might get you know and it's a sensitive issue but I wondered to what degree is WWE you know there was no graphic again at the beginning of the show they had done that on Monday you know are they they just feel like that's done or I'm really not sure but I felt that if you're gonna have a flag bearer for that Kevin was the right person to do it so he had the arm band and he held it up and you know we got that and we got something
from the desk as well from Cory who of course was a tag team partner and also maybe it's worth saying perhaps on some level there's no way of and competing with it's not the right term there's just no way of standing alongside the tribute that the the sky got on Wednesday's dynamite so I think any attempt to sort of have more you know people wearing tributes and stuff like that probably wasn't the right idea but anyway that's all a bit of tension I thought this was really really good match very entertaining I was waiting for Randy to interfere I have to say you know to further that storyline but you know I wasn't disappointed by how he did it they got the sort of quantities in there I think also even the fact that Cody broke up the the pin by by taking Charles Robinson rather than the standard breakup of just sort of diving on to the competitors I think is is beginning to like get us to a year Cody and unlike the way they're doing that you know they're just dropping these things in here
he said that next time he would kick Randy's fucking head off and he tried to he was just foiled in the attempt so you know that storyline is very much being progressed you know I'll ask you whether we get to that does it get added to Money in the Bank because Crown Jewel is so far off it's it's difficult to see you know this very long wait for this for this match between the two of them and maybe we'll get into it but yeah just to wrap it up I thought that this was a very well done triple threat match and completes our field for for the Money in the Bank Dider match yeah first I thought the match was was excellent you know featured some fantastic action throughout and very well coordinated three-way you know like wrestling and again a match that did not necessarily follow the you know format at this point of having a monster heal for everybody for walk around and instead I thought it's all three just like we're terrific here I especially though to me loved the Randy Orton run in and I think the keys of the plan to connect to the interview from last week and that perfectly time to our Gano interruption as well um the crowd I felt was hot for the entire thing so I found the main event tremendously entertaining and like did
its job of number one getting Owens into the match but also breaking you off into Cody's next field and maybe some follow up for Gano in this in his well further disappointing of saying he's saying I felt as well that sorry oh Randy versus Cody um I certainly I think there's a strong chance of it at crown jewel yeah even though that's like a month away from Money in the Bank but I also don't what ruled it out being a TV main event you know at this point it's like they've already done it several times you did it at SummerSlam you did it on Sunday nights of an event I mean it doesn't feel especially even anymore for a pay-per-view or is it something you can do on television for potentially like a solid rating I think the answers they could absolutely do that especially when we've had title changes you know world title changes on on this program of late so you know they've trained the audience to or at least attempting to to say like anything can happen on this on this show and it would of course not have to be the one and done you know you could expect more your thoughts overall on Twitter and Instagram right here um I think despite the filling of the
money in the bank fields it did feel slightly less than I think this week punk punk's absence is one note to make but it's kind of one element of it and I think largely because the Julia and Blickman role match was bad actively you know bad the Raiders Saints and was it the Naxxiom or whatever we're calling them match it was kind of I mean it was a good match but it had nothing really any steam behind it you know I wouldn't go and in when there's so much good resting around I would probably wouldn't recommend people to match it both of the money in the bank qualifiers they were they were the final qualifiers so we get the last woman and the last man into the into the PLE at the end of next week and those are what I would check out after the fact if you didn't see the show there's not much else to recommend here I would agree in terms of like maybe like it was a necessarily a must-see show I thought like the qualifying matches were both strong I thought Sammy Sainte's promo was strong but it also wasn't one that I think was so necessary for like or narrative purposes to take you to the next chapter I just thought it was a strong performance at all and so we have our full fields now for both money in the bank matches as I mentioned for the women we have uh Lola Bice versus
Solruco versus Roxanne Perez Lash Legend JC Jain and then Tiffany Stratton for the men we've got trick Williams Bronbreaker CM Punk Kevin Owens Jibana and Penta and WWE has also released these two posters so right afterwards so how did they get these guys for a photoshoot without knowing who was going to be collapsed but how did they do that maybe some AI AI yeah thanks the answer okay okay let me say just a really good I forgot that President Trump officially renamed it this week SI super intelligency like so okay well we also I mean she's got a son I'm a to a linomic man who made start calling it S1 S1 yeah all right so that was our our edition is back down and at this point we say farewell to all of you guys listening on the free feeds uh well do we even have feedback we do oh we do okay well we'll see you guys in the post-western cafe patrons in the excel edition and the recipe will be safe for well right now
