Many say that the economy is doing ‘great’.  Yes, if you’re a money manager perhaps.  But not if you’re a blue-collar worker or you happen to work for the U.S. government  Not if your in the 90% of the people who are working 2-3 jobs just to stay afloat or live paycheck to paycheck.  And that’s just the surface of it.  Drilling deeper, so to speak, we see that having a fossil fuel-based economy is like sawing off the plank on which we’re standing.  So today’s discussion will be looking at “The Green New Deal” which proposes an entirely new way of envisioning our economic future, on real terra firma which also includes public banking.
