Mithraism and Celestial Tea Cults

What do you all know about Mithraism and the Celestial Tea Cult? For episode three, we learn about the ancient roman cult that may have been way ahead of its time and the tea company that was founded on very sketchy immoral beliefs that just might include... aliens? There are a few trigger warnings as we are talking about cults so please be warned ahead of time that there is talk of ancient bondage, nudity, racism, and eugenics between the two cults. As always, primary sources and photos will be posted to our instagram page at litstorypodcasts Our resources used for this episode include: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/travel/article/along-hadrians-wall-ancient-romes-temples-towers-and-cults-come-to-life https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/12/europe/london-temple-of-mithras/index.html https://www.tertullian.org/rpearse/mithras/display.php?page=main https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/mithraic-mysteries https://kinginstitute.stanford.edu/king-papers/documents/study-mithraism https://www.timetravelrome.com/2021/07/03/the-mystery-cult-of-mithras/ https://archaeology.co.uk/articles/london-mithraeum-reimagining-the-famous-roman-temple.htm The Origins of Mithraic Mysteries: Cosmology and Salvatio in the Ancient World by David Ulansey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSSSQtkFgRs&t=483s https://www.allamericanspeakers.com/celebritytalentbios/Mo+Siegel/3777 https://www.inverse.com/article/10731-cults-conspiracies-and-the-twisted-history-of-sleepytime-tea https://www.foodandwine.com/drinks/sleepytime-tea-and-little-known-religion-behind-it https://celestialseasonings.com/pages/learn-about-us https://celestialseasonings.com/pages/our-history https://www.urantia.org/trustees/mo-siegel https://www.urantia.org/urantia-foundation/history
