On March 30th, Mizzou basketball is shaking up the roster early this offseason after that quick 80-66 exit in the NCAA tournaments. First round, forward Trent Pierce locked in for his senior year, but point guard Anthony Robinson II just entered the transfer portal. Robinson, a 6'3 guard from Tallahassee, Florida, came in as a three-star recruit in the class of 2023, picking Mizzou over, Florida State and Auburn. He showed flashes with 30 games as a freshman and earned SEC All-Defensive Honors as a sophomore.
This junior year fell short of hype, especially after getting bumped from the starting lineup mid-SEC play by Teal Barrett's breakout. With Barrett likely back and five-star Jason Crowe Jr. arriving, Robinson's eyeing better shots elsewhere in his final eligibility year. His tape screens impact player on both ends, even if stats do not wow power coffin scouts.
Over 50 starts in nearly 100 games, he wraps up at Mizzou with 7.3 points, 2.7 boards, 2.5 assists, and 156 steals. Pierce steps up big two, sticking as a two-year starter with 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and solid defense after an early injury. Expect Robinson to snag a high major spot pushing for the 2027 NBA draft while Mizzou builds around these keeps in new blood.
