MLB Baseball Changes & NFL Draft Prospects (PST Episode 502)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

As we continue to recover from the Philadelphia Eagles’ loss in the Super Bowl, we’re starting to look at the college football talent that will be making its way to the NFL via the NFL Draft in April. This week, Ryan Roberts (@RiseNDraft), draft analyst from RiseNDraft.com, joined us to talk about this year’s talent that we’ll see soon enough in pro football. Lots of great topics with Ryan this week! But first, we had a detailed discussion about the new changes that will be coming to Major League Baseball this season and what they’ll mean for the game: pitch clock, shift alterations, larger bases. (approx. 7:55)We then dove into some storylines we’re following within the Phillies clubhouse during Spring Training. (approx. 20:05)From there we had a discussion about how this second half of the Sixers season looks as March could be brutal for the team. (approx. 30:55)Of course, we had to talk about the Flyers and what we think may happen before the trade deadline. Who’s staying and who’s being shipped out? (approx. 38:00)What we threw down on the Table this week was an in-depth discussion with Ryan Roberts from Rise N’ Draft about the upcoming NFL Draft and the prospects we’ll be evaluating over these next couple of months. Are there sleepers at the quarterback position and quarterbacks being over-hyped? A look at the trenches. Will this be a robust wide receiver class in 2023? Plus much more this week on the Table!
