With a runner on first and two outs in the fifth inning, Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider walked to the mound — but Scherzer wasn’t having it. Before Schneider could even speak, the fiery 41-year-old pitcher barked “No!” loud and clear, refusing to be taken out of the game. Moments later, Scherzer struck out Randy Arozarena to end the inning, celebrating fiercely and letting his manager know he was right to trust him.
