We are hella West Coastin today! Not only do we have the ridiculously dope and incredible, Jansport J, but we've also got emcee/manager-extraordinaire, Slim Jeff. If you don't know Jansport J you're falling off. He's one of the best and most interesting producers out. Whether he's dropping solo instrumental albums or collaborating with emcees, his sound immediately stands out in the seemingly endless landscape of sample based producers. As a huge fan of his work, it was dope to sit down and talk to Jansport and slim about their experiences visiting Japan for the first time, navigating the music industry as a sample based artist, lo-fi and soul music, the Tokyo beat community, and much more.
