MN's Future Economy – Post Legislative Session

Minnesota's Future Economy: a Post Legislative Session discussion On Wednesday, June 21st, the Economic Club of Minnesota convened a panel of legislative leaders in a discussion moderated by Blois Olson. Representative Lisa DeMuth, Representative Aisha Gomez, Senator Eric Pratt, and Senator Nick Frentz began the conversation by each giving a letter grade to the economy of Minnesota. The results were wide-ranging. Blois posed several questions of his own and weaved in audience questions. Topics included the budget surplus that was present and the beginning of the session, and how it was spent by lawmakers. Each weighed in on the potential effects of new taxes, the restrictions on charitable giving, and school funding. Blois questioned the panel on the effort to grow the population of Minnesota while retaining jobs.
