Mobile Hunting In The Mountain State with Jared Shaffer

This week on Southern Ground, we’re joined by Mr. Flinginairos himself, Jared Shaffer. As a West Virginia resident, Jared understands what it’s like to be a hardcore whitetail hunter in an area where the deer density is low, the bag limits are liberal, and the terrain is brutal. Instead of making excuses, Jared combats tough hunting with remaining mobile and has been extremely successful in doing so. In this episode, we go into detail with Jared on some of the mobile hunting tactics he has put into practice in order to consistently get on good bucks each season on both public and private ground. This season has been one to remember for Jared, as he was able to put a good buck on the ground in 3 different states. In other news, Mike is still working hard to fill a buck tag on Alabama public land. He tells us about a few close encounters he has had, as well as a miss last week on a big buck that will haunt him for awhile. To add to the list of disappointments from this week, Parker tells us about how he destroyed his kayak in an “automobile accident”. If you’re a faithful listener, you know how devastating this is.
