Moby Dick Chapter 59-63

In which, beneath the tranquil expanse of the Indian Ocean, the Pequod encounters the ghostly apparition of a vast and mysterious squid, evoking awe and silence amongst the crew, before descending into the intricate craft and perilous artifice of the whale-line, that serpentine coil of rope fraught with silent danger as it binds the oarsmen to their deadly hunt. In which also the voyage pursues its solemn and mighty quarry, the leviathan sperm whale, whose elegant and terrible chase unfolds with shouted cries and fierce toil upon the racing boats, all amidst the harpooneers’ harsh exertions and the hidden hazards of the floating nooses that surround them.
