Modern Education: How Embracing Individuality is a Healthy Revolt Against Conformity & Conditioning

from Support, Protect, Empower - The Project Purpose Podcast · host Rachelle Innocent

#Education #AntiConformity #CriticalThinking  Hello Everyone!   Welcome to our second segment on Education, this week 😊   In today's discussion, we're talking about how valuing one's sense of individuality, also translates as being a healthy revolt against conformist ideals. While we love to celebrate someone living in their truth and authenticity, it seems an impossible feat to integrate into our own lives. All of us face varying degrees of social, cultural and traditional norms, that create pressure to conform - at the expense of our sense of self.   Embracing individuality is education that starts at home, providing each child with the critical thinking and communication to preserve self, in the face of pressure to conform. Lets collectively opt out of following rules of engagement that pressure us to erase, or to hide, aspects of who we are. Let's empower one another to use our voice and embrace our sense of self.   #Education #CriticalThinking #Authenticity #Individuality #ProtectSelf #Learning #Conditioning #BoundarySetting  Do you have any questions regarding our resilience-building, parent-child workshops?  Send us an email: [email protected]    *RESOURCES*   - Resisting Erasure: Forging Our Own Space and Histories: https://yorkspace.library.yorku.ca/xmlui/bitstream/handle/10315/38392/MESMP03435_Madayag-Bawuah_E.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y  - A Curator’s Work to Resist Erasure and Reconfigure Identities: https://hyperallergic.com/482478/a-curators-work-to-resist-erasure-and-reconfigure-identities/  - A brief note on the topic of “erasure” and identity: https://culturallyboundgender.wordpress.com/2014/06/19/a-brief-note-on-the-topic-of-erasure-and-identity/   For all topics related to renewing and rebuilding family, communities and relationships, check out our blogs!  We post bi-weekly:  https://www.spe-projectpurpose.com/blogs  Make sure to come visit us, subscribe to the website, and join our Member's Area for more valuable content:   *SOCIALS*  Website: www.spe-projectpurpose.com   Facebook Page: @ProjectPurposeSPE  Instagram: @ProjectPurposeSPE or my personal account @realistrae  Twitter: @Purpose_SPE  Pinterest: @ProjectPurposeSPE    If you'd like to read my research thesis, "ADHD: Is it a Social Construct or does it have a Neurophysiological Basis?" you can find it at the following address:  https://rachellerealist.wordpress.com.   I'm more than happy to answer your questions, feel free to send an email to: [email protected]   OUR AUTONOMY, SELF-EFFICACY, COMPASSION & SELF-CONCEPT WORKSHOPS ARE AVAILABLE (AGES 4-8, 9-13 & 14-17) BE SURE TO GO TO THE WEBSITE AND MAKE YOUR PURCHASE!    Do you like the intro/outro music?   Check out the artist on Spotify:   Artist Name: Valdii  Song Name: I Learn
