In recent weeks, locals have been raising with me the issue of modern slavery in New Zealand – goods like clothes, toys, and electronics that come into our country made by forced or child labour. World Vision and Trade Aid, along with many New Zealand businesses, are calling for legislation to be introduced and this is something I am exploring.
