Modern Soul Essentials 1-3
from Outta Sight Records' Podcast Hosted by Outta Sight Records
Welcome to the all-new “Modern Soul Essentials” imprint from Outta Sight, launching November 2012. The Northern end of Modern Soul has been continually popular since it was championed at the Blackpool Mecca by pioneering Dj Ian Levine back in the mid-seventies. First in line are Ujima, an important and prolific band hailing from Richmond, Virginia with their hot collectable “I’m Not Ready”, penned by band guitarist David Brown. Second up is Kurtis Scott (aka Kurt Harris) and his £1,000+ rarity and floor-filler “Build Build Build” and finally, one of the masterpieces of Chicago seventies soul, “Trying To Get Next To You” by Arnold Blair, penned and produced by LeRoy Hutson.
