Modest Barack - Overcoming Temptation (July 12, 2026)
from Calvary Family Church - Cathedral of Restoration · host CFCLilongwe
We were blessed by a powerful sermon from one of our young and energetic members, Modest Barack, on “𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻”From the sermon, we were reminded that #Overcomingtemptation is not about avoiding every struggle, but about standing firm in faith when challenges come. This week’s message reminded us that God walks with us through every season of life, including trials, suffering, and temptation. While difficult circumstances can test our faith, they also shape our character, deepen our dependence on God, and prepare us for His greater purpose. Through the example of Jesus in the wilderness, in 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝟰:𝟭-𝟭𝟭, we are reminded that temptation is not sin, but a call to choose #Obedience over compromise. God is faithful, and He always provides a way for us to stand firm and overcome. 𝗦𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗼𝗱, 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿: God allows trials to strengthen our faith and make us more like Christ. Temptation is common to everyone. Being tempted is not a sin; giving in to it is. God never tempts us. Temptation comes from Satan, our own desires, and the world around us. Jesus overcame temptation by standing on the Word of God. We are called to do the same. Difficult seasons do not mean God has abandoned us. He remains present, even in the wilderness. God will never allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear and always provides a way out. Spiritual growth often comes through perseverance, obedience, and trusting God in difficult times. Do not grow weary in doing good. God's purpose and reward will come in His perfect timing.
