Mokele Mbembe

Known to some as Africa's version of the Loch Ness Monster, the Mokele-Mbembe is a supposed dinosaur-like cryptid that has been seen in and around the Congo River Basin and more specifically Lake Bangweulu, for the last 300 years. From the early 20th century until now, interest in the Mokele-Mbembe still attracts attention from several explorers, even though it's more likely fantasy and myth rather than fact.
