Mom Tribes

It is very common for mothers to feel...ISOLATED--Alone--Scared... and even DESPERATE for personal fulfillment. Many smart, savvy and educated women built tremendously successful careers in the corporate business world before venturing into motherhood....and then find that they are CRAVING the opportunity to create something NEW and LUCRATIVE from inside the home. New successes...new stresses...fresh solutions. I am going to be honest---very honest. I look around at my beautiful home, in the hills just north of Los Angeles, my happy and healthy marriage, my cheerful and well-cared for children... my large client list... (and subsequently)... my growing bank account... I HAVE ARRIVED! =) --- BUT--- from where I sit, the road can be just as rocky, if not MORE ROCKY because new successes can bring new challenges. I would be nowhere without my tribe. On today's live broadcast, I will be re-welcoming 2 women who I consider MY PEOPLE. Two of the most authentic and altruistic women in my professional life today.... Patty Lennon and Leah Jantzen--- and I have to tell you WHY they are a cut above the rest... and why they hold such value to me as a mom who is fighting to make a difference. Even in their most intense and wild determination to build wealth, success and personal fulfillment, I have NEVER known either of them to compromise their personal integrity or WHO THEY ARE as women... as they support and advocate for other moms in business. I've noticed that ---although the view from the top is BEAUTIFUL--- the ladder becomes a bit more rickety the higher you go. I had --mistakenly-- aligned myself with some "false leaders" who only APPEARED to be successful. I became increasingly saddened to discover that some of the mentors I had been looking up to (were merely) con-artists in disguise...Gurus who were CREATING an illusion of grandeur and false perception of prosperity and fulfillment. What's more--- I began to feel -- almost as if... they didn't REALLY WANT me to succeed. Once I saw with fresh eyes the CLEARER picture of where I had (unfortunately) landed... a cut-throat industry filled with big egos and easily threatened RIVALS who would STAB and SABOTAGE their own colleagues for the mere HOPE of crossing the finish line first... ((GAG!)).... I clamored to find MY PEEPS. ---AND --- (phew!) I found them! Had it not been for MY TRIBE... I might have remained disenchanted. MY TRIBE IS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME... ---If I need a good cry....(and to once again find the road back to LAUGHTER!!) ---If I need to find my focus, clarity, and purpose... ---If I am challenged by a business goal... ---If I need to reinvent... ---If I need to brainstorm. I ---HONESTLY--- don't know where I'd be without my tribe. These are women (and mothers) who get ME (not who I might appear to be.) These are women who are rooting FOR ME. (Not secretly hoping that I will fail or worry that MY SUCCESS might dampen their own spotlight.) These are women who will NEVER FAULT me for having a setback or seeking support and a pick-me-up, or choosing to be 100% ME. THIS IS SO RARE...but not impossible to encounter in your own lives. When YOU are feeling sad, or clouded , or scared or alone--- YOU MUST HAVE A TRIBE who you can count on to boost you back up, remind you of your purpose, what you are capable of and help you to cleanse the energetic vibration of your passionate ambition to serve others.
