These classes centers around business entrepreneurship and I guess the issue of success generally speaking. But what is it that's causing us to become a low-layer? As you know entrepreneurs are known to be incredibly low-lily as a group of guys that pressure groups society, but what's causing us broadly to become low-layer? I think there's a lot of things.
But I give you an example of my other courses. I think you might have been a better answer to me. I think my point of view of people who are going to become business leaders, not all of them. So everyone listening to this knows that junk food has taken over all the rights and those things that are basically right.
It's an instance of security for most of my countries, I basically don't care. So I had a low point, one day when I went to the end, I like what Kessie, it ended up relying. And Kessie, I got a really glad you were here. I was like, he's a wet minute.
We went back behind the fries. I came back with every member of the staff and a really big Christmas garden. We were sitting over into our favorite customer. And part of one of the reasons why I called it, thank you, because I suddenly thought this isn't even the right chicken, so I go to the next one.
But we know that junk food appeals to the one that's interesting, but actually doesn't get interesting to make it sick, right? What's interesting is something very similar is how we got values. And I kind of junk values are taken over our minds and they're mentally sick. So it's a stunning amount of processing Kessie, I've learned a lot.
It's an illinois. It's incredible work researching this for 30 years. Well, like, imagine you played piano in the morning because you love it and it gives you joy. That would be an intro.
You played with your kids or your kids. You'd be in a bad manner. That would be an intrinsic reason to play the piano, right? You're not doing it to get something out there.
Because that experience is the thing you love. And no imagine you played the piano, not because you love it, but some play the rhythm and you're working a di-bar, right? Or I don't know, two-person woman, maybe there's some piano to set up. Or maybe she's a parent to be a person and you say you'd be a piano in my story, right?
That would be, that's not an intrinsic reason to play, not doing it for the things itself. It's called an extrinsic or junk reason to play it. You're doing it to get something else out of the experience. Because how it will look to other people or something else that will get further down the line.
Obviously, all human things are intrinsic and intrinsic as it goes into its own. Well, Professor Casa showed it is a couple of things. Firstly, as a culture, we become much more driven by these junk values. We become much more obsessed with doing things and driven by doing things because how it looks like people in a kind of a cheap way because of money, because of status, right?
First Casa also showed the more you're driven by money and status and kind of external people, and so you look at other people, rather than enjoy four and four and four and six ways with them, the more likely you want to become depressed and anxious, right? And I think this is one of the most difficult factors to think about. Because I think about how much you play down. I'm not going to go to a lot of social media.
I think social media drives us so much when we're driven by these junk values. All the time about, I've got three teenage nephews and teenage niece. I think all of them are just on a customer and social media. And I'm actually going to drive people to think in terms of these junk values, right?
And I like to do it. How good do I look in this picture for Instagram, right? The more you are driven in those directions, the more I'm happy you will become. And there's a deeper reason for that, which connects a lot of causes of depression and anxiety that are right now in multiple connections, which is everyone listening to your show knows that they have natural physical needs.
Obviously, you need food, water, you need shelter, you need cleaner. If I take them away, you need these food, right? But as equal to evidence, all human beings have natural psychological needs, right? You need to build people up.
You need to build your life as a meaning and purpose. You need to build people see you and value you. You need to build a future that makes sense and where you're going to be valued. And our culture is good at lots of things.
I'd like to be like today. I like to be like they're just real. I like to be like, oh, we've been getting less and less good dealing with these deep underlying psychological needs that people have. It's not the only thing that's going on, but I think it's a really key factor by the crisis is going on.
