Well, I'm pretty into running. I've just come back from a little talk across Africa. Yeah, it's me, Rust Hook, AKA, the hardest diesel. At 22, I'm the first person to run from Asia to London.
And earlier this year, I'm kind of the first person to run in Africa. 10,000 miles across 16 countries in 350 days. Around 386 consecutive reference, we're mounting together to provide armories and even safety in that. The craziest part of all those models are realized what I've been running from.

Mm, careful. Yeah, careful. Come down, come on, go. The RC, yeah, that was one hell of an experience that.
You just probably said probably the highest part of the whole trip. Probably the highest part of the whole life. Really? You not talked about this much and you tell me that.
For some reason. So we made YouTube series online. It's kind of the whole thing. It's the only YouTube video that I didn't release.
Because it was quite... I mean, it was quite... It's a difficult one at the time as well. Because it was a high time for us as a team.
And we, there was a lot of audience, a lot of full lats around that. And I didn't think that the video that we made was really what told the story how I wanted to tell them. What happened? So...
Yeah, you're emotional, Alice. Yeah, I mean, yeah, that whole thing was mad. Because we got to the RC, I think 800 got to the RC. It was hostile from the start.
We've been warned about the country. It's one of the four countries in the world. It's quite a non-f corruption. And we've been sent the videos of crazy things happening there.
And I think we were apprehensive. You've been sent some kind of videos. Crazy, I think, shot that, all kinds of stuff. Yeah.
It was... It definitely... I mean, I don't have much agree. What I would say about the RC is that we spent a few days at my experience with very subjective time.
It's a massive country. Those people, those great people. But my times experience of the small amounts of things that we're going to be off. But yeah, I mean, we landed in the country across the board.
It was a very capable time we had people who wanted to get by very happy to see us all. Shout out to me whilst I was running, trying to explore us for money. Officials always kind of get trying to get money at us. And we talked about all this and people and some kind of things we were going into.
But it was really created a kind of atmosphere that was difficult, challenging. Yeah, I mean, the day before day 102, we had a guy come up to... He came up to me with a rock, spikes in the rock. And he's like, I'm going to smash him at this.
And he's a great friend. He's trying to get a very supportive friend. So basically, friend asked me to speak a spike and rock the audience and say, like, give me free quid if we're not free quid. But I'm going to start smashing it up.
So we came up to him and queued in. I'm not getting paid so much. I'm not getting paid so much. I'm not getting free quid because I didn't want to get worried around people.
There's a bunch of people just running around. So, yeah, I mean, woke up day 102. I was running 100K a day. I felt very anxious from the getter.
Really, like, really find it if already. Ran, left the boys in the morning, I'm going to do around 20K, then run another 20K. Start, we took a turn off onto that road so the boys at the parents route went down his dirt road. Then the van basically, the sport, I couldn't get to me.
So the boys sent a guy on a motorbike. And so I'm running around his dirt office. I'm running a motorbike, keeps running to stop me. And I was so like, scatty already that I didn't want to stop for, he's trying to get me stuff like that now.
I had it day four, he kind of stopped me on my bike. It was all it didn't feel great. I was quite anxious about holding. Anyway, eventually, I did stop.
He gave me a note basically, so the boys can't get around to where we were going to go to this other place I meet there. And there's about 20K for a jungle. No roads, that veggie in the park. I was walking away from a way for a bus.
He's at this meat and point where I was going to find the boys. Ran out of water, phones got no signal. And I'm going to release these bushes, because of the experience that I've already had in the first couple of days, I was very much like, I just want to get my head down and get through. These places are quickly possible, less possible.
So I'm running through this village. And people are out in the inside. I'm like, this is happening. I'm just tearing down.
I think I upset quite a lot of the village. I'm doing that. And then the chief of the village comes over. And then, you know, for not on like, it's around half the village.
They're all like, they're upset. They don't get one. They don't get one. I'm doing one there.
And they start trying to say that I can give money. I didn't have anything on me. So then, like, the chief of each other's on it. Of course, people went and got two boats.
They took me out to the bush with me, and I was breaking it. Yeah, I was actually breaking it. Thinking, like, my mind's not your base in this one. What's going on here?
Why am I not going out to the bush? This doesn't make any sense. Is it a check down? Like, what is the worst happening?
Don't know. And then, what acts are the bush. I basically emptied my bags, I had some biscuits, and then just started. And then, I was just like, be on this meat and so on.
And mine's totally proud of this point. I'm here and both of us come on here and people. I'm jumping bushes, like, totally just kind of off it here. Kind of get through this longer bit, get to this meat and what the boys on there.
And then, I'm really like this bag, because I'm about 50 something K in, dehydrated. No signal. And I don't know where the boys are. I don't know how to get to them.
I'm in there with the jungle. And I know that there's, like, I've set a lot of people in the low ground. I'm just running away from all. And like, this bad news.
Anyway, I figured out that the time at the last nine bit of tarmac was, think about 15 or 20 K away. And I reckon I can just about make it there. If I make it there, that makes sense. The boys at the last bit, they could get to.
So if you just went away from the guys and the guys in the bush, I think it's pretty much there. Yeah. Like, they walked me out to the bush. It's bad.
It's a big business to start. And then, I ran off and I could just hear loads of emotional going on. And I'm just running through this jungle. It's all quite.
It's there. I mean, it's all quite a journey by the roof. I was like, are you? You said, yeah, I was petrified.
And I was absolutely petrified. I think what the hell is that? I didn't understand any language. Like, local language.
I didn't know any Frenchy but which would have helped. And I didn't have a good understanding of the culture or anything. So I think if I went for it, again, a lot of these things would have been rationalized in my mind easier because I was someone where a situation I had with these horses was going up in my head. I was a couple of days ago.
I was quite rough. And I was just like, in a spot where it didn't take much for me to just assume the vice of everything. So really got me into a place where I was like, quite scary. But yeah, I mean, I find, I got a little bit of time when I was like, I'm going down this dirt path.
Another two blocks I'm like, what, what, what? And I was like, I just don't want to be a part of this. I'm just trying to stop me mind slightly gone. And they were trying.
I think I was trying to be a detective friend. I'm thinking about these guys who these guys sent from this village about the village is the bush today above, of there's a walk driving around here and he's up like a fucking thing. So I'm like, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. I'm thinking, you know, the boys they send a note with the driver if it's from them.
They'll just go, no, no, nah. And I was like, what, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. I've got no way, nah, no, no. They're probably no further than 10 or 20K away.
So if I get on this bike I'll want to buy for longer than half an hour now I'm going to buy news. So I should fucking go on the bike. How long would you spend my money after you got my bike? I'm getting a spike, I'm having a guy like this language, Barry just, we know when I was at the world in my saying.
And then, yeah, and then he said, I was like, I'm about to go into the jungle, which was like, so seven hours. Seven hours. Yeah. Well, I shouldn't go off there about an hour and a half and I was like, I'm getting out of the way.
This is it. And then I was thinking, rationally, I was like, had such a limit knowledge about the RC or any of this kind of stuff, they're probably just going to, they probably just want money. But then you all started thinking, well, maybe they're just going to go in. And the story is, I heard about the RC and that wasn't crazy saying, like people get stabbed for fire literally, like a couple of people get stabbed.
People get killed for a watch. So I was really trying to, I was really trying to rational about this situation, but just like very quite emotional as well. And then, I mean, for the last few hours, I was just like, what God has for me has for me, you know, whatever it is and that's fine. And I was just trying to like, you know, it's how much.
But it was very scary. I was like so nervous, like just shaking, they took me to this village in the jungle, like no electricity, it's like wooden little shacks with tin corrugated roofs and stuff got me off the bike to be into this little hut. Then loads of them in, they came into the house, they were arguing about money and this kind of stuff. And then the second chief of the village walks in and says to me, like you speak to me in English, very slowly, he answered a few words.
I said to him like this is big mistake, you know, like call my friend and he speaks French and like, and then he can come and we've got money and we can swear. And then they spoke on the phone. And then basically we agreed that the boys were calm, we got money and then it was like, I think about 36 away hours to get there because it was so rural, there was no roads over there, it was all dirt paths. They tried to mention multiple blocks of scanned, then they ended up trying to borrow the police, police chiefs for that fall.
Also scanned us, so they, yeah, so then I mean boys got there eventually, we got going on some money and then I was free to go. I was just looking, as you were talking about how far seven hours is and for people in the UK, seven hours is London 10, right? Yeah, it's not in the RC. So if I could run in 10, run a car, that's seven hours.
Just keep an idea of like how long that is on a back-to-back bike, like strange men going through the middle. We did it for the jungle, so it's like little tiny paths that are going up and down through rivers, we were going up in seven hours, like drinking on the spot, actually, down in the minute. And you got seven hours, they weren't doing money. Did they explain anything?
I think they were, I think they were actually just they were more scared about the wild ones, why I was there and all the rest of it. And I mean, after the final call with the team things seemed quite set up like they were pretty right with me and they, I think that, you know, it was always, I was just gonna say it was like totally totally wacked. I mean, just exhausted, but like petrified and I was just very nervous around everything, twitchy, you know, yeah. How do you say, what do you think I do?
I don't know, I think, I don't think so, but obviously obviously I'm doing things like, I don't think it's gonna get something but I was anxious then for sure. You're speaking to Emily back home throughout the journey on those days, but this period of time sounds like you were out of communication with her. She seems like she was very, very worried about you. So you're actually told us on a research called that she thought you were dying.
Yeah. I mean, I've always been dying, though. Did you actually? Yeah.
And how did you sort of rationalize that? How'd you deal with that for when you're, what comes to mind? What do you think of me? You really believe you're not going to buy you?
I mean, it's different for me. I was just like, you know, if this is the way the God wants it, then obviously that's it. And what for me also, that's how I was trying to do it. That's what I'm saying.
