Moment of Meditation: Massive Ark (Genesis 6:15)

This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits. (Genesis 6:15) If you have been to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky, you know that the Ark was massive. Answers in Genesis have made a wonderful full-scale recreation of Noah’s Ark. If you have not been there, I encourage you to go. A cubit is between 14 and 18 inches in length. The Ark was around 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. One and a half football fields in length. Half the width. Five stories high. A great sign of God’s salvation that Noah’s neighbors could ignore. But ignore it they did. To their doom. But the Ark still stands for you in Christ’s Church. More next time. Amen.
