Pastor Andy brings us a message about how mothers shape and form us into who we are, and how the church is meant to play that same maternal role in our spiritual formation, setting an expectation that pulls us toward our best selves. Just as a good mother questions, corrects, and refuses to leave a child the way they started, the church should help us know our name and identity, strengthen us internally so we cannot be deceived by the world, lead us to salvation, ground us in love rather than fear, and fill us to the measure of the fullness of God. We cannot let society have our children or give up on the expectation of better, because the real protection against the predator is knowing who you are on the inside, and no weapon formed against you can prosper when you are filled with Him.
