TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. Unlike the disobedience or Eve and Adam that severed the relationship of God with humanity and the subsequent expulsion of humanity from the garden of Eden (the old church), the obedience of Mary marked the beginning of the realisation of the salvific work of God in Christ Jesus. Haven reconciled humanity and the universe to God, Christ Jesus hands over His newly founded Church to the maternal role of Mary. This sets Mary forth as a model of obedience for us.
