Give me life, O Lord, and I will keep your commands.I am seized with indignation at the wickedwho forsake your law.Though the nets of the wicked ensnare me,your law I did not forget.Redeem me from man’s oppression, and I will keep your precepts. Those who pursue me with malice draw near;they are far from your law.Salvation is far from the wicked, who are heedless of your statutes.I look at the faithless with disgust;they have not kept your word.R/. Give me life, O Lord, and I will keep your commands.Alleluia, Alleluia.I am the light of the world, says the Lord; he who follows me will have the light of life.Alleluia.Gospel: Luke 18:35-43A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.It happened that, as Jesus drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging; and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” And he cried, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” And those
