The earth brought forth vegetation,  plants yielding seed according to their own kinds,  and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed,  each according to its kind.  And God saw that it was good.  And there was evening and there was morning, a third day. And God said,  “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens  to separate the day from the night;  and let them be for signs and for seasons  and for days and years,  and let them be lights in the firmament of the heavens  to give light upon the earth.”  And it was so.  And God made the two great lights,  the greater light to rule the day,  and the lesser light to rule the night;  he made the stars also.  And God set them in the firmament of the heavens  to give light upon the earth,  to rule over the day and over the night,  and to separate the light from the darkness.  And God saw that it was good.  And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 104:1-2a.5-6.10 & 35c (R. 31b)R/. May the Lord rejoice in his works.Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, how great you are, clothed in majesty and honor, wrapped in light as with a robe! You set the earth on its foundation, immovable from age to age. You wrapped it with the depths like a cloak; the waters stood higher than the mountains. You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow in between the hills. There the birds of heaven build their nests; from the branches they sing their song. How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your
