Send us Fan MailMonday, 3 March 2025Monday, Eighth week of Ordinary Time, Year 1 Antiphons on p.869 and  Readings on p.875 of the Daily Missal.First Reading: Sirach 17: 24-29To those who repent, God grants a return,     and he encourages those whose endurance is failing,    and he has appointed to them the lot of truth. Turn to the Lord and forsake your sins;     pray in his presence and lessen your offenses. Return to the Most High and turn away from iniquity,      and hate abominations intensely. Know the justice and the judgements of God,     and stand firm the lot that is set before you,  in prayer to God the Almighty. Who will sing praises to the Most High in Hades,     as do those who are alive and give thanks?Tarry not in the waywardness of the ungodly,     and give thanks before death. From the dead, as from one who does not exist, thanksgiving has ceased;     he who is alive and well sings the Lord’s praises. How great is the mercy of the Lord,     and his forgiveness for those who turn to him!Responsorial psalm: Psalm 32:1-2.3.4.5 (R. 11a)R./  Rejoice in the Lord, exult you just!Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is remitted. Blessed the man to whom the Lord imputes no guilt, in whose spirit is no guile.To you I have acknowledged my sin; my guilt I did not hide. I said, “I will confess my transgression to the Lord.” And you have forgiven the guilt of my sin.So let each faithful one pray to you  in the time of need. The floods of water may reach high, but such a one they shall not reach.You are a hiding place for me; you keep me safe from distress; you surround me with cries of deliverance.R./  Rejoice in the Lord, exult you just!Gospel: Mark 10:17-27At that time:   As Jesus was setting out on his journey,  a man ran up and knelt before him, and asked him,  “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him,  “Why do you call me good?  No one is good but God alone.  You know the commandments:  ‘Do not kill,  Do not commit adultery,  Do not steal,  Do not bear false witness,  Do not defraud,  Honour your father and mother.’” And he said to him, “Teacher,  all these I have observed from my youth.” And Jesus looking upon him loved him,  and said to him, “You lack one thing;  go, sell what you have, and give to the poor,  and you will have treasure in heaven;  and come, follow me.” At that saying his countenance fell,  and he went away sorrowful;  for he had great possessions.And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples,  “How hard it will be for those who have riches  to enter the kingdom of God!”  And the disciples were amazed at his words.  But Jesus said to them again,  “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches  to enter the kingdom of God!  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle  than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him,  “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, &nbs
