Allulose is a naturally occurring sugar found in fruits like figs and raisins. According to a recent batch of SPINS innovation index data, Allulose was absurdly out indexing all other sweeteners across the entire grocery store. So, why is allulose banned by Whole Foods Market…and not approved yet for use in Canada and Europe? Maybe because most Allulose is synthesized in a lab, most likely from corn…processed with a genetically modified enzyme.
