Welcome to Raw Impressions Monday's Music Mini Episode. Welcome. Welcome. I love that little intro.

It's faster. Mm-hmm. You know, for the podcast for Raw Impressions I have it nice and deep and low. But I figure since this is our sort of mini.

This is going to be our bonus. A little quick. Yeah, a little bonus 15 minute episodes we do on Monday. Yeah, like a quick check-in.

Yeah, exactly. Music check-in. Yeah, for an opportunity for me to play some songs. Mm-hmm.

I like that. Because I'm a musician. Still a musician as well. Yeah.

Yeah, you've got a lot of jobs now. Yeah, some days I'm not a musician. Mm-hmm. That's not true.

You're always a musician every day. I know. I like to be self-deprecating when it comes to that learning. I'm learning to not be a self-deprecating.

Yeah. Change that dialogue with yourself and others. It's time. There's no time like now.

I got a show coming up on December 17th in Holyoke at Race Street Live. But it's not actually in that same room that Dinosaur played. Uh-huh. It's in some other room.

You're opening for Jeffrey Lewis. That sounds great. Very awesome Jeffrey Lewis. Yeah.

Cool. So everyone local gets your butts down there. Go support Lou and Jeffrey. And you need to get your butt down there with me.

Oh wait. Oh wait. Okay. Okay.

Alright. Sorry. There we go. What's this song called?

Pulse. In my pulse. Every day it feels out of control. I'm finding a way not to lose it.

I'm saving my soul. I'm confusing it's in my pulse. They say you're a sutgy. If I am Kree.

Well the poison sturges in me. I'm at war with my money. The night exaggerates. It tells me it's too late.

And then manipulated by fear. On me and at night. It can tell you that nothing occurred. Blood in its eyes.

And on the curtains it still shrugs and sighs. No for certainly they can't deny. I'm tired to eat. The same thing with my heart beside me.

But it's some good thing. It's a bit brought to my knee. I'm finally out forced. I can't take on nature my myself.

I'm finally out forced. I can't take on nature my myself. It's not something's changing. I'm gonna hold on blind.

And it's worth to do. Until I'm dead. I'm a part of you can change that degree. My habit's hibernate.

My midst to weeks and a year. Will let me hear. Take in my pose. Yeah that song pulse off of.

Race to wave. Yep. It's an album I put out a long time ago. Yeah well no no.

It's recent. Well it's within the last ten years. Well seven. Seven years?

Yeah. Maybe seven years ago when I did that. Yeah I really, that song kind of stands out for me. I feel like I.

Yeah I started thinking about it again. I've only played it live a couple of times. And I just didn't think people liked it. But I didn't think they didn't like it.

I didn't get much response about it for it. And then it's kind of hard. It's sort of difficult to play because there's more parts. And I get nervous.

That song is like I could see that. It feels intimate. That song. Well it's about aging.

It's a song about aging. Yeah. I feel that song about aging. And I think it made me a little emotional when I re-heard it recently.

And I was like oh my god I forgot about that song. And then that song, I don't know why, but for some reason reminded me of To Pure. Like you think that they're sort of. Yeah I had this.

That I was like. It's an older Sabotos song. It's an older Sabotos song. Right.

What's it off of? Harmacy. Okay yeah I was. For some reason I heard pulse and then To Pure came into my brain and I was like is this like the weird like unintentional sequel to that song?

I don't know if that makes any sense. They are related because it's made to Pure is about, um, walked about. It's about smoking too much marijuana. So it's about.

Yeah and then uh, pulse is more like I guess pulse is, I started having those, I started ending up in the ER fairly regularly with something called SVT super ventricular tachycardia which is when my heart goes absolutely bonkers. And uh, but actually I, and so pulse is kind of about that because my, I was just sort of living kind of in fear of this. My heart just going crazy, but I realized that there were things I could do to change that. Oh yeah.

Lifestyle changes let's say. Right. And uh, so it is related to that because it meant that, you know, like I don't know how specific I want to get about it. Right.

Just so there needed to be some changes. Yeah you know, and you, yeah it's like it's just even the stuff that seemed incredibly harmless when I was, you know, in my 20s and 30s and even 40s I suppose. Yeah. You know, those things actually the, you know, your body has to, your body has to process all the things you put inside of it.

And so I, and I just got really, I just after that last when we first moved here, I had that tachycardia episode where I ended up in the hospital. And I was like, I don't know. I think I got to figure some stuff out. Yeah.

Make some adjustments and lifestyle adjustments. Yeah. Cause it was like waking, it's really about waking up in the middle of the night and having just being like, oh, you know, just feeling my heart's racing and, and then somehow during the day just kind of forgetting about that and just continuing with my, you know, sort of, my heart's racing and. And then somehow during the day, just kind of forgetting about that and just continuing with my, you know, sort of continuing with my, my life the way it was before and not really changing my habits.

Mm hmm. I think that the day, yeah, the day kind of, what did it say in the song, the day can deny? Yeah, the day can deny it can tell you that nothing occurred with blood in its eyes and on the curtains, it still shrugs in size. Yeah.

For certain. Yeah. That's true. Because I think that's also like a something our body just does to keep you moving, right?

It's like just a survival technique. It's like, oh, well, it's just not thinking about that terrible decision. Let's, let's keep going. Let's try again.

Yeah. But that's a nice thing actually about the days. It does give you an opportunity to try again and to make a change. Yeah.

If you're so inclined or you just stay exactly the same, I tend to stay. That's true. It takes, it takes the changes. We're not ending up in the ER every few months.

Actually, that last, I did write that's after I wrote that song. I've yet to have a reoccurrence of that. Yeah. I remember we were there.

Boy, it was a really long. I think I was pregnant with Izzy. Was I pregnant with Izzy for one of those? And it was like really a long night.

And it was very scary actually to be next to you and see you like hooked up to all these little things. Are you sure it's that one? Are you sure it's that one? Because I ended up in the ER.

I broke my collarbone. No, I'm thinking about when they put all those little circles on you. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

And it was, that was really scary. Song. One answer. In five notes.

Okay. I'll play a two-pew-r-r. Okay, cool. Sing in my touch.

Attention, tugging at my smile. If there's a right thing to say. I'm sure I missed it by a mile. Swallowed in some detail heavy in my blood.

I wanna hold you close. I can lift my arms up. If there's a reason for this distance. More than the drugs that float my day.

I'm nervous, bug in my system. It keeps me a G and I need to keep an eye on my heart. I'm in my system, it keeps me a G and a shame I've got a saint, never ever will forget Never understood me, it tells me how to live If it's when I stretch, then I stretch because I can Build I'm sore, and then I open up for more I do it out of habit, not addiction And if I give it up, clean up my blood Will I still feel bored and disconnected? If I knew it all for love, will I ever give enough?
