Monday of the 18th Week of Ordinary Time

Today's readings explore the difference between comfortable lies and difficult truth. In the first reading, the prophet Jeremiah faces a rival who offers the people exactly what they want to hear, while Jeremiah must deliver a harder message. The Gospel then shows the disciples tested by a stormy sea, where the question becomes whether they can trust what is real when fear takes hold.
