Do you remember the only hit that the Boontown Rats had? And it really wasn't even that big of a hit. Do you remember? Do you remember?
It was, I don't like Mondays. Let's talk about that. All right, welcome. Welcome to the Daily Grateful.
I'm Michael Kroos. And today we're going to talk about Mondays. People hate Mondays. Why do you hate Mondays?
Mondays are like a fresh pair of socks. You know, you like them, but, you know, you don't love them. You know what I'm saying? But they do make you feel better.
So, you know, you're starting off on the right foot. Mondays are good for that sort of thing. You know, you get to go to work and brag about all the cool stuff you did over the weekend. And, you know, if you didn't have Mondays, what would we use as an excuse to overindulge in coffee?
I don't drink coffee. But you know what I like to do on Monday mornings? And I rarely do it anymore because I'm on a Zimpik and I'm just never hungry. But Monday mornings, I always hit the drive-thru at McDonald's and would get a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit.
Not the McGriddle. My son likes McGriddles. I went for the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit every Monday. I don remember the last time I had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit Although today which is Sunday I recording the Monday edition on Sunday The lovely Diane that is favorite ex number two of three And I went to this family owned restaurant here, like around the corner, you know, and had never been there before.
Driven by it for years. Went in there because all the other restaurants are raising their prices outrageously. And we just I got tired of going for breakfast and spending forty five dollars for the two of us. But we went in there and had a delightful breakfast.
And I had a bacon, egg and cheese and everything bagel with home fries. Diane had a bacon and cheese omelet with home fries. And the total bill was like 24 bucks. That was and the bagel was still it.
I only ate half of it. I cut it in half and I only ate half of it because I just can't eat that much. And I sent the rest of it home with Diane, who was also on a Zempick. But she will put it in the refrigerator and her son will scarf it up and eat it like immediately.
So that's what I used to look forward to on Mondays was a bacon, hick and cheese biscuit. Wow. You know, we can all agree that yesterday's diet starts next week. No, I got to tell you, no, I am not on Ozempic to lose weight.
I'm losing weight. I'm on Ozempic because I went and had my blood work done and my A1C was at 11 something. Now it at 8 and heading down I having blood work done on Tuesday And I will know again if it heading down even more because I not going to mess with that I not on any medications whatsoever at all which I am so grateful for except the Ozempic And I'm old, man. I know I sound young, but I am old.
I am older than dirt. Mondays are a great day if you have a job that keeps you on the road. It's a great day to forget your phone and just take all of the stuff that you had scheduled to do and go do it. You know, I remember in the 80s before we had cell phones.
I remember this. I remember this very well. So I would have a we owned a lawn care company, lawn care pest control company in Tarpon Springs, Florida. And in the office, we would I would schedule everybody's workout and I would have my work scheduled for the day.
My work mostly was going out and looking at lawns and diagnosing and selling lawn jobs and that sort of thing. And I didn't have a cell phone. I just had everything written down. I generally had eight to ten stops I needed to make that day.
And I just went out and went to work. It was so calm. It was so wonderful. Right now I have the the what I call the portable for Norton.
I'm holding it right here. and it twinkles all the time. It rings constantly. So I am very, very pleased that I had a wonderful life before there were cell phones.
And I am so looking forward to the day when I can get rid of this thing. But on Mondays if you do your scheduling right if you go out and work out in the world where you in the car all day or in a truck all day or whatever and you schedule yourself right you don need a cell phone Okay your spouse is going to be really pissed that they can get a hold of you but I know that And if we didn't have Mondays, we would miss the sheer joy of Fridays. But again, I don't understand that. I totally do not understand why everybody is so excited about Fridays.
Oh, because the week's over and we have the weekend. Well, I try to make every day a grateful, wonderful, happy day, as I think you should as well. You know, what's up with all of this? Monday is that one coworker who forces you to be productive just by showing up.
My computer just made a noise. It's telling me I have a Windows Defender summary. It's telling me I don't have any weird stuff on the computer. I'm grateful for that.
I'm grateful for you. I'm grateful for this podcast. I am looking, by the way. I'm sticking this out there.
I'm looking for a female co-host for a Saturday podcast that will be about media, entertainment, and stuff like that. No politics. Let me know if you have a suggestion or if you might be interested. We'll talk to you later.
Bye-bye.
