Monetize and Traumatize

from The Sound of Black and Brown · host Black and Brown United in Action

Get comfy and let’s unpack it, there’s a lot happening there and if you do not think it affects you here, well, you’re wrong and it will do so even more soon. On this episode of Sound of Black and Brown, "Monetize and Traumatize”. Tune in and listen as thoughts are shared about another great loss, Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey and why there are calls to #firemoseley. All these talks and whatever else that looks like it’s working about Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity yet, AmeriKKKa seems to enjoy disenfranchising, discrediting and demeaning Black and Brown Women, when does it end? Students at a historically Black college in Missouri returned from Christmas break dressed in black, mourning the suicide of a beloved administrator, Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey, who experienced bullying and racism by the school’s white president. Meanwhile, Claudine Gay, formerly Harvard University’s first Black female president, resigned due to plagiarism claims. Where’s the space for Black and Brown leadership at these HBCUs or any well known non-profit? Yet, with all of this, some are so determined to star and be part of right wing media and politics. Is this a tale as old as slavery? If you don’t think so, it’s probably because you’ve never been in that situation, right?   Stories referenced:     https://www.npr.org/2024/01/02/1222516898/harvard-university-president-claudine-gay-resigns    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/careers/opinion-dr-candia-bailey-s-death-stresses-the-role-of-empathetic-leadership/ar-AA1mTlVD    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/careersandeducation/lincoln-university-president-on-paid-leave-following-dr-bonnie-baileys-death/ar-AA1n8Fpc    https://news.yahoo.com/claudine-gay-5-things-to-know-about-harvards-first-black-president-192249156.html?    Stop supporting war stop supporting businesses fueling genocide!
