Bright lights, or loud sounds warn us of danger. These get our attention fast. But what about a $1000 NT bill? A fruit and vegetable market in Tainan wants to warn visitors of danger. There is a step (台階) at the door of the market. But it is hard to see. Workers at the market wanted to make people pay attention to the step. They painted bright yellow lines on the step. They wrote "watch out for the step". And then, they also came up with a new idea. They taped four fake $1000 NT bills on the step. 一間台南果菜市場擔心民眾會被台階絆倒，寫上「小心階梯」，還在每個字旁邊都貼上玩具假鈔。 Many people thought the idea was creative and fun (有創意又好玩). But some people worried that the idea could be dangerous. You might put on some warm clothes. If you are still cold, you might turn on a heater (暖氣). But what if you could just turn on…your walls? 天冷的時候，很多人會在家裡開暖氣，不過你知不知道牆壁可以直接發熱? Some people living in the United Kingdom are trying out electric infrared wallpaper (紅外線壁紙). Thin sheets of metal are hidden in the wallpaper. The metal is connected to electricity. The metal makes infrared waves. And these infrared waves heat up the walls, the house, and people in the house. Even when the temperature outside is below zero, people in the house will feel warm. The wallpaper can be controlled through an app. And you can choose to heat just one room, so you don't waste energy. The wallpaper may be better for the environment too. Experts says renewable energy (再生能源) can be used to power the wallpaper. This means the electricity it uses can come from solar or wind power (太陽能，風能). February 14th is Valentine's Day. Some people celebrate Valentine's Day as the day of love. On this day, some people will give a card to their loved one. That's because the island is shaped like a heart! No one lives on the island of Galesnjak. There are no hotels or restaurants on the island. But many people visit. Some of the most famous people who have visited the Island of Love include Beyonce, Michael Jordan, and Jeff Bezos. Now, a part of the island is up for sale. The 40,000 square meters of the land is on sale. It costs $13 million euros.
