Monika Henreid has a life long history in the entertainment business. A child of Hollywood royalty. Monika Henreid has worn the hat of an actress, radio host, writer, producer and director. She has been in movies with greats like Bette Davis. Now Monika Henreid is producing a documentary about her father, actor Paul Henreid. Most fans will remember Paul Henreid as the brooding Composer Robert Schumann in Song of Love. Good friend and comrade German teacher, Max Staefel in Goodby Mr. Chips or the tortured husband in a bad marriage in Now Voyager. Perhaps fans remember him as the patriot Victor Laszlo in Casablanca. In fact he was non and all of these characters and so much more. Born into a family with prestige, he would rub elbows with Austria's elite. After his fathers death he learned to deal with hard times. Not having the educational advantages to become a doctor he turned all his passion to acting. He was black listed three times. He became collateral damage of the McCarthy witch hunts. For five years he would not be able to act in the medium he had given so much too. He married the love of his life. A story that reads like a romance novel. He reinvented himself time and again. He never lost his dignity, devotion or strength. Of course for every hero there is a heroine. Lisl would be the cement which held the family together during difficult times. Henreid Beyond Laszlo is scheduled to be released in 2017. It is still in the production stage.
