Episode 143 Streamed Live Tuesday June 13, 2023 A short discussion of “fauxSR”, being an online disagreement about the OSR, with guest Ryan David of Nerdcognito Main Topic: Monster Mash #13: Here there be DRAGONS Part 2 We pick up from the discussion on ep142 and begin with “ecology”. How do dragons fit into the world and what considerations should be made. These considerations can be political, territorial, existential, etc. We also discuss some of our favorite dragon encounters, and some alternate ways to use them in your campaigns. Should the concern be with how much they eat? How do they fly? Is it wrong to present tribute? How rare should they be? Bestial or Intelligent? Is it really all that it’s cracked up to be? Best of Dragon Magazine Vol. #1: Review and highlights…perhaps even hit the table of contents. Usefulness of such magazines back in the day and today? Where are they now? Opinion on articles? Any specific one you liked? Those who tried to replace them: Gygax Magazine, Kobold Quarterly, etc? Current Day: Mad Scribe magazine - #2 soon to be out with the article from yours truly.
