Apesar das tentativas do Governo de negociação com o PS para alterar a duração da comissão parlamentar de inquérito (CPI) à conduta do primeiro-ministro, o desfecho foi o adivinhado há uma semana: o país vai mesmo para eleições dentro de dois meses e nesse caminho não faltarão acusações mútuas de quem caminhou até à beira do precipício, quem deu o passo em frente ou até quem empurrou. Com o voto contra do PS, Chega, Bloco, PCP, Livre e PAN, a moção de confiança foi chumbada e o Governo saiu da Assembleia da República a argumentar que "tentou tudo".
