Montezuma's Daughter Chapter 25 - The Burying Of Montezuma’S Treasure

In which our narrator, recovering from grievous wounds, is entrusted by Guatemoc with the solemn task of concealing the reclaimed treasure of Montezuma in a secret subterranean vault, guarded by a fearful curse and marked by the sacrifice of a traitor. Thereafter he and his noble wife Otomie journey with a great retinue to the mountain city of her people, the Otomie, where she sways their chiefs to renew their allegiance to the Aztec crown against the encroaching Spaniards.
