Montgomery Skipping MSU Visit | Michigan State Spartans Basketball News

Michigan State missed out on a key visit with top-ranked wing Asa Montgomery, a four-star prospect ranked No. 4 in Georgia and No. 28 nationally — a major setback for the Spartans’ 2027 recruiting class. While not a dealbreaker, his packed schedule featuring elite programs like LSU, Duke, and Arizona signals East Lansing isn’t currently at the top of his list. With no wing visits locked in yet despite recent commitments from guards Antonio Pemberton and Cole Kelly, Coach Izzo is likely pushing hard to change that. Scouts rave about Montgomery’s scoring ability — averaging nearly 28 points and 10 rebounds in one league — while also praising his energy and defense on the USA Basketball team. His decision could reshape Michigan State’s future roster, making this one of the most watched recruitments in the class.
