Monti Ossenfort Commits to Jacoby Brissett as Cardinals Starter

Arizona Cardinals General Manager Monti Ossenfort recently clarified the team's roster strategy, confirming that Jacoby Brissett will remain the starting quarterback despite a strong preseason performance from rookie Carson Beck. To reflect this elevated leadership role, the organization provided Brissett with a significant pay increase following his transition from a backup to a primary starter. Beyond the quarterback position, the front office expressed a strong desire to secure Michael Wilson with a long-term contract extension before he reaches free agency. Management also addressed defensive stability by dismissing trade rumors surrounding Josh Sweat and confirming his importance to the current defense. These updates highlight a focus on veteran stability and retaining homegrown talent as the team prepares for the upcoming season. The report also notes the historic retirement of Larry Fitzgerald’s jersey number, marking a celebratory milestone for the franchise.
