Montpelier Post Office Bid Rejected | Montpelier News

Montpelier’s historic post office, damaged in the 2023 flood, is back on the market — but its new owners hit a major snag. A local group bid $540,000 to turn it into housing and businesses, but the federal government rejected it, calling the price too low. The bid was backed by eleven community groups and state funding, showing just how much the city wants this landmark revived. With no clear explanation from the feds and the future still uncertain, the building’s next chapter remains up in the air.
