More Than Enough Part 2: The things we repeat  🔂

from Rock Of Refuge Ministries · host Pastor Njabulo

“Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.” So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. And He sent away the multitude, got into the boat, and came to the region of Magdala.” Matthew 15:32-39 NKJV Introduction  Why would Jesus repeat the same miracle in a short space of time? Things that are repeated are things to consider The Lord’s Prayer says; “give us today our daily bread “ Bread is not a once of nutrition but daily Cakes may be nicer than the bread but it’s for special occasions The Word of God is our daily bread without it we find ourselves weak and vulnerable to the temptation Good things are repeated The teacher will repeat and emphasise the important lessons Most of the time what is emphasised is what you will be tested on Compassion  Matthew 15:32 NKJV This is the second time around Jesus is moved with compaction because of the crowd’s hunger Being well fed Spiritually doesn’t substitute for physical wellbeing They are full of the Word of God but they are also hungry Jesus is giving them food to eat now and take away bag There is so much abundance in Jesus such that He will send you with some back home to your family and to your neighbours  We will faint without spiritual food The enemy is looking to pounce on those who hungry and weary Jesus wants you to make it to your destination Going away with empty stomach will cause harm to you That is why we get fed by the word of God We never learn sometimes Matthew 15:33 NKJV It’s human nature to fall in the same trap Not too long ago Jesus fed 5000 people and the disciples are still asking the same question Do we ever learn Looking into our ability always ends with limitations Stay focused on Jesus If He did it before, he will do it again Things that are written in the Bible are for us to know that our God is able He asked Ezekiel can these bones leave? He opened the Red Sea  He shut the mount of the lions He struck the giants with small stones  He protected Joseph through deadly experiences He kept His promise to Abraham He will do the same thing for you in your difficult circumstances “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” Answer: Jesus  Crowd Reduced Why 4k? Where did the other 1k go? You would have expected the number of people to grow after the first miracle but it reduced 20% of the crowd were no longer there for the second miracle The 4000 continued to follow Jesus in the wilderness and got rewarded for it  Other people will drop the course because it hard Others business because of the turnover  Others marriage because of no more butterflies Only those who hold on will experience the double potion of the blessing When others forsake their responsibilities hold on to what God has called you to do This is not about feelings, fillings come and go Conclusion  Matthew 6:25-26 NKJV God wants us to live a fruitful life  Life in Christ have a lot of challenges but He make sure that we live a life full of Joy His presence is all we need to make it in life He never stops increasing our influence and accomplishments when we put Him Everything we need he will supply in abundance There in Him is eternal life
