"It's the type of thing that literally tears your heart out."On 24 July 1996, seven-year-old Morgan Violi was playing outside of her home in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Amidst the high temperatures that day, Morgan and the other children in the vicinity were buzzing around the apartment complex, immersed in the dog days of summer vacation. But while Morgan played with a friend, a man in a maroon van nearby watched and waited.At around 12:35 PM, the man made his move. He drove up and first attempted to abduct Morgan's six-year-old playmate, but was unsuccessful. He then grabbed ahold of Morgan, threw her into the van, and sped off toward nearby Scottsville Road.
