•US equity markets logged modest declines as investors digested the latest inflation data and eyed Nvidia Corp’s second quarter result after the closing bell – Dow fell -114-points or -0.21%, snapping a three-session winning streak. Merck & Co Inc (down -2.14%) and Nike Inc (-2.25%) fell over >2%. Apple Inc will hold its biggest product introduction of the year on 9 September, kicking off the tenure of new chief executive officer (CEO) John Ternus. The tagline for the gathering is “Surprise and shine”, according to invitations sent to media, and Apple will use the event to introduce its first foldable iPhone, entering a market dominated by Samsung Electronics.
