US equity markets rallied strongly, lifting both the Dow and S&P 500 to record closing highs – Dow climbed +907-points or +1.71% to a fresh record closing high of 26,584.99, with Cisco Systems Inc (+5.08%) and International Business Machines (IBM) Corp (+3.91%) among the leading performers in the 30-stock index. Nike Inc (down -2.60%) and Amazon.com Inc (-2.32%) fell over >2% and were two of just five components in the 30-stock index that settled in the red. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jeff Bezos filed to sell ~15M shares worth ~US$4B a day after Amazon joined the US$3 trillion market capitalisation club for the first time.
