Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The sea is his, for he made it,* and his hands have molded the dry land.   O come, let us worship and bow down,* and kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God,* and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,* do not harden your heart as in the rebellion.   O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness;* let the whole earth stand in awe of him. For he comes, for he comes to judge the earth* and with righteousness to judge the world and the peoples in his faithfulness.   Psalter The appointed Psalm is read together Psalm 62 1  For God alone my soul waits in silence; * from him comes my salvation. 2  He alone is my rock and my salvation, * my fortress; I will not be greatly shaken. 3  How long will you attack a man to batter him, all of you together, * like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? 4  They plan only to thrust him down from his high position; * they delight in lies; 4  they bless with their mouths, * but inwardly they curse. 5  For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, * for my hope is from him. 6  He only is my rock and my salvation, * my fortress; I will not be shaken. 7  In God is my salvation and my glory; * the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8  Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before him; * God is a refuge for us. 9  Those of low estate are but a breath; * those of high estate, a delusion; 9  in the balances they go up; * together they are lighter than a breath. 10  Put no trust in oppression; set no vain hope on robbery; * if riches increase, do not set your heart on them. 11  One thing God has spoken; * these two things I have heard: 11  that power belongs to God, * and that with you, O Lord, is steadfast love. 12  For you will render to everyone * according to his work. † Composite
