Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; * incline your ear to me, and save me. Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, * from the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man. For you are my hope, O Lord; * O LORD, my confidence from my youth. I have leaned on you from before my birth; you brought me out from my mother's womb; * my praise is continually of you. I have become a portent to many, * but you are my strong refuge. Let my mouth be filled with your praise, * that I may sing of your glory all the day long. Do not cast me off in the time of old age; * forsake me not when my strength is spent. For my enemies speak against me; * those who watch for my life consult together saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, * for there is none to deliver him.” O God, be not far from me; * O my God, make haste to help me.
