Michael Thorne Jarrett   Today's Readings: Psalm 80Ezekiel 4 - 51 Peter 2:1-12 Confession The confession is said privately. The audio file begins after confession. Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. In his hand are the caverns of the earth,* and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his, for he made it,* and his hands have molded the dry land.   O come, let us worship and bow down,* and kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God,* and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,* do not harden your heart as in the rebellion.   O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness;* let the whole earth stand in awe of him. For he comes, for he comes to judge the earth* and with righteousness to judge the world and the peoples in his faithfulness.   Psalter The appointed Psalm is read together Psalm 80 1  Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. * You who sit enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth; 2  before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, * awaken your strength and come to save us. 3  Restore us, O God; * let your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. 4  O Lord God of hosts, * how long will you be angry with the prayers of your people? 5  You have fed them with the bread of tears * and given them tears to drink by the bowlful. 6  You have made us an object of contention to our neighbors, * our enemies mock us among themselves. 7  Restore us, O God of hosts; * let your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. 8  You brought a vine out of Egypt; * you drove out the nations and planted it. 9  You cleared the ground for it; * and it took deep root and filled the land. 10  The mountains were covered with its shade, * the mighty cedars with its branches. 11  It sent out its branches to the sea * and its shoots as far as the River. 12  Why then have you broken down its walls, * so that all who pass that way pluck its fruit? 13  The boar from the forest ravages it, * and all that moves in the fields feed upon it. 14  Turn to us, O God of hosts. * Look down from heaven, and see;
