Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. For he comes, for he comes to judge the earth* and with righteousness to judge the world and the peoples in his faithfulness.   Psalter The appointed Psalm is read together Psalm 45 1  My heart overflows with a noble theme; I address my verses to the king; * my tongue is like the pen of a ready writer. 2  You are more beautiful than the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; * therefore God has blessed you forever. 3  Gird your sword upon your thigh, O mighty one, * in your splendor and your beauty. 4  Bend your bow, and prosper, and reign, for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; * let your right hand guide you wondrously. 5  Your arrows are sharp, O mighty one, the peoples fall under you, * in the heart of the king's enemies. 6  Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of righteousness; * you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. 7  Therefore God, your God, has anointed you * with the oil of gladness beyond your companions. 8  Your garments are all scented * with myrrh and aloes and cassia, 9  from ivory palaces they make you glad; * daughters of kings are among your honored women. 9  The queen stood at your right hand, * clothed in a golden robe, arrayed in many colors. 10  Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: * forget your people and your father's house; 11  and so the king will desire your beauty; *
