Michael Thorne Jarrett Today's Readings: Psalm 48Jeremiah 48:12-47Hebrews 4:14-6:12 Confession The confession is said privately. The audio file begins after confession. Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Invitatory O = Officiant A = All OLord, open our lips. AAnd our mouth shall proclaim your praise. OO God, make speed to save us. AO Lord, make haste to help us. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving* and raise a loud shout to him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God,* and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the caverns of the earth,* and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his, for he made it,* and his hands have molded the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down,* and kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God,* and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,* do not harden your heart as in the rebellion. O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness;* let the whole earth stand in awe of him. For he comes, for he comes to judge the earth* and with righteousness to judge the world and the peoples in his faithfulness.
