Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving* and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.   For the Lord is a great God,* and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the caverns of the earth,* and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his, for he made it,* and his hands have molded the dry land.   O come, let us worship and bow down,* and kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God,* and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,* do not harden your heart as in the rebellion.   O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness;* let the whole earth stand in awe of him. For he comes, for he comes to judge the earth* and with righteousness to judge the world and the peoples in his faithfulness.   Psalter The appointed Psalm is read together Psalm 66 1  Shout joyfully to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; * give to him glorious praise. 2  Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds; * so great is your power that your enemies pretend to obey you. 3  All the earth shall worship you and sing praises to you; * they will sing praises to your name.” 4  Come and see what God has done, * his awesome deeds toward the children of man. 5  He turned the sea into dry land; * they went through the water on foot. 6  There we will rejoice in him, * who rules by his might forever; 7  his eyes keep watch on the nations— * let not the rebellious exalt themselves. 8  Bless our God, all you peoples; * let the sound of his praise be heard, 9  who keeps our soul among the living, * and does not allow our feet to slip. 10  For you, O God, have tested us; * you have tried us as silver is tried. 11  You brought us into the net; * you laid a heavy burden on our backs; 12  you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; * yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance. 13  I will come into your house with burnt offerings; * I will fulfill my vows to you, 14  vows which my lips uttered * and my mouth promised when I was in distress.
